  1. I was wondering if I put my PC close to an AC unit but have a dehumidifier somewhere in between would that help temps go down? I know condensation is bad for the computer so would the dehumidifier help with anything? Idea Process: Window unit Air Conditioner (source) --> Dehumidifier (3ft) --> Computer intake fans (6ft)
  2. yeah i know but im just wondering if there is any significant relationship between these two systems of memories
  3. Question: Need some insight on VRAM and RAM relationship. A. 3090 24gb + System ram 8gb ram (2 x4gb) B. 3090 24gb + System ram 64gb ram (4 x16gb) C. 1050 4gb + System ram 8gb ram (2 x4gb) D. 1050 4gb + System ram 32gb ram (2 x16gb) are there any performance differences between them? is there a ratio between system ram and VRAM?
  4. so in a sense it'll boost to the same performance while using less power because of the sufficient cooling method?
  5. interesting... so in the scope of 3090's this would be kinda be a weird card as the watercooling does nothing as there is not enough juice to pump this card to its max?
  6. Is there a difference between daisy cable (one cable with 2 x8 pins) and using two separate PCIE 8 pins(two separate cables)?
  7. Budget (including currency): USD Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Animation, rendering, video editing, simulation, production, slight gaming on the side Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Thoughts on the 3090 Waterforce? a key difference I see from other 3090's is the 2 8pin connection, other 3090's have 3 8pin. Would be an area of concern?
  8. Budget (including currency): $1200 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: most likely used for rendering and working on CAD (computer assisted design) models.I usually have two monitors plugged in (32"+24") and thinking about getting a third. This will also most likely be hooked up to a 4k TV via HDMI. would like to build a modest true mid tier rig that would handle most of these tasks. 3-D modeling > Gaming+Streaming YES: Autocad, Revit, Rhino, Vectorworks, V-Ray, Keyshot, Lumion, Adobe Suites (ID,Illus,Photo mostly) NO: video encoding, heavy gaming (like AAA games are fun but meh not really a huge gamer, like I'll check out a game but that's about it) MAYBE: very VERY light gaming (mostly free games like LFD2, LOL), Streaming, Virtual Reality Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Current running: (8 years old) CPU: i7-3770k GPU: Gigabyte Radeon 7870 HD (2GB) RAM: 8GB 1333 (2x4GB) STOR: 512gb crucial (SSD) + 7200RPM WD 2TB Black Option 1: (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/MdjYFG) CPU: R5 3600 GPU: RTX 2060 S (8gb) RAM: 32GB 3200 cl14 (4x8gb) STOR: 512gb ADATA XPG (NVME) + 7200RPM WD 2TB Black would like to experience this pcie 4.0 stuff and would like to have a small upgrade pathway if possible. I know there is no such thing as future proofing but if there is a good option in this budget I'm all for ideas. Much thanks!
  9. What would happen if I plugged in my 2019 15" MBP to my desktop motherboard that has a gen 1 Type-C? Will the MBP charge or just completely kill the USB C port? Asking for a friend
