  1. The other device is a laptop. I asked my friend to take my graphics card and test in his system to see if that’s the issue or not. He’ll pick it up on Monday so i’ll update you then on how that goes. As for the PCI-E x16 slot, yes that’s the only one. The others are PCI and PCI-E x1
  2. Thought about that but can’t do it sadly. My CPU doesn’t have integrated graphics so I’m out of luck there.
  3. Hello, pretty self explanatory from the title. Computer was working just fine yesterday, was playing Batman Arkham Asylum with no issue. However, on the next day I turned it on and noticed it stayed stuck on the motherboard logo that shows right before it gives the Windows start up loading. Seeing how it was stuck and wouldn’t progress, I forced shut down by holding the power button and when I tried turning it on again it wouldn’t output any video signal. I doubt it’s an issue with the power supply as the fans and lights all turn on. I’ve tried removing the CMOS battery and inserting it again, tried removing the RAM and starting it with only one stick installed, reseated graphics card, disconnected every input device and the hard drive and still no video output. I’m stumped on what it could be as it was working just fine yesterday. I know it’s not the monitor or cable as I tried them both on another working device and I had no issues. Any help is appreciated. Here are the specs: Motherboard: Gigabyte ga-f2a68hm-h CPU: AMD Athlon x4 860k GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 960 SC 2gb RAM: G.Skill Ripjaw 16GB (2x8gb) DDR3 1866 PSU: Seasonic SS-520GM M12II 520 Bronze 520W ATX Power Supply I noticed that when I turn it on the fans instantly start at max speed and what I’m assuming is the CPU fan momentarily ramps up to be louder for a few seconds then goes back to normal. That happens about every 20 seconds. I don’t know if that could mean something. Again, thanks for any help.
  4. So I got a new hard drive already. Says can’t install cause it’s mbr. When i try to convert from command prompt it gives me an error and it doesnt see that the drive is there. What could be causing the computer to not recognize that there is a hard drive?
  5. I’m on a bit of a budget right now and I don’t wanna spend the money on both a hard drive and ssd. I don’t really mind the speed of hard drives to be honest. I’ll for sure be getting a ssd down the line though. I’ll let you know how it goes after I go to Best Buy
  6. I just called Best Buy and they said I could return it or do an exchange for another one so I’ll let you know how it goes when I get the new one and install Windows on it. I believe it’s the hard drive that might be the issue; today I turned it on and it said it has 0 gb used and 0 gb free, and after a couple of reboots the bios no longer recognizes there’s a hard drive. So wish me luck lol
  7. Nope, and I’m not sure if I could return it due to the fact that I threw the packaging away on the first day since it seemed to work since it let me install Windows. Didn’t expect for it to do not work on second boot. I’m gonna call and see if I can
  8. It was able to install but was extremely slow and delayed. Would take minutes to open upna program and be extremely delayed when opening the menu when I would click the windows key. I tried doing a fresh install again and it said it needed to be GPT so I changed it to GPT. Now, it tells me that I need to turn on the device controller (but it’s already on AHCI) and sometimes I get an “error 0x80300002.” I did notice that when clicking the “New” option on the unallocated disk pace it doesn't create a partition or anything, and it doesn’t let me install it again onto the disk.
  9. So I went into the minipartition wizard and the hard drive shows up as basic MBR. The hard drive is divided into two, with the left being a small sliver saying “basic MBR” and the right just saying it has 935 GB. What do I do from here? edit: In the acronis disk director, it says my “Recovery” volume is a NTFS and is healthy, “EFI System partition is FAT32 and is healthy, “Local Volume” is NTFS and is also healthy. what do I try now? edit 2: I rebuilt the MBR, wiped the drive, and cleared all partitions from the partition wizard then tried reinstalling Windows. Was able to delete the partition and reformat but said I couldn’t install Windows because I needed to enable the drive controller. I went into the bios and changed it from IDE to AHCI and it let me continue. It’s currently on 10% so hoping this works
  10. I tried deleting and reformatting the drives and it wouldn’t let me do either, I got errors for them. It said it can’t boot from GPT or something like that. Another partition said it needs to be NTFS or something like that. Add to that it would take like 40 minutes to load and show the hourglass icon for me to just get the error message. The hard drive is new, I bought it on Monday. I believe this is it: https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16822236339 I haven’t done the dlc boot thumb drive yet but I’m going to try it now. Also, I checked the bios and everything is set to either UEFI or UEFI first. Sometimes I get an error saying BlinitializeLibrary failed 0xc00000bb error. I’m really desperate at this point for any solution
  11. So i’ve tried installing Windows, but it just takes a million years on Windows Setup and i get the little hour glass icon which stays like that for i don’t know how long. When it eventually works, it says I can’t use any of the drives or partitions. What do I do?
  12. I believe it was set on that when I was going through the bios. If it is, what do I change that to? And how do I access the dlc boot tool?
  13. Yeah, I installed Windows already and the USB flash drive I used that had the installer has been removed
