  1. When we tested in the store using a better computer, it was initially set to 1080, but when I went to display settings 1440p is available and recommended by windows. And actually it doesn't look that bad. That's one of the reason I bought the monitor even though it's 1080p because I thought I can upscale to 1440p on my laptop as well. I believe 1440p is not available in the store and 4k is just too expensive right now. I'm not sure if this is only windows specific and not actually a hardware limitation. Am I getting the right concept here? Sorry, I know that the monitor is 1080 but I was just wondering if I could also upscale to 1440p just like the computer in the store (that has probably discrete graphics card) if I use type c connection.
  2. Hi all, I recently bought a SAMSUNG LC27R500FHEXXP 27 inch curved monitor and when I was in the store I can see that it can run at 1440p with better graphics card using HDMI, however, if I connect my laptop over HDMI it can only run at 1080 resolution. I tried creating custom resolution in intel graphics control panel but it says I exceeded the bandwidth capacity. My laptop is a Dell Latitude 7490 and it has a type c port but I believe it is not a thunderbolt port. I was wondering if I could achieve 1440p if I connected the monitor via the type c port and adapted to hdmi? Currently, I'm not willing to gamble buying adapter that may or may not work because I'm already broke. Thank you guys!
