  1. Was playing gta v and discovered while @ 1080p max settings my gpu was sitting at a nice relaxing utilization of 50% with occasional jumps to the 70s, but nothing higher. FPS avg'd was 60, which is honestly fine for gta, but with a 144hz monitor it looks choppy. I went and checked the cpu stats, and it was also not going above 50-60% usage. All my connections are fine, and the temps are all hovering around 50-60 degrees C. So I am confused here, what could be the issue? the build: i9 9900k at 4.7ghz asus 2080ti (I forget what its called, but its not the OC edition, its the one a tier under that) 850w psu from corsair 16gb ram @2333mhz 1tb m.2 ssd
  2. I have a friend who was brought up in china with simplified but cannot read traditional not substantial evidence but I assume there is quite a bit of learning required if one wants to go from simplified to traditional
  3. So my friend had his debit card on play station network, and his little brother got nba 2k19 and thought he was pulling off some glitch and racking in hella coins. Only later when my friend checked his bank account, he realized $1k was missing, he questioned his little brother, and his little brother found out that the "glitch" he found was actually him just using his brothers money for EA coins. To top this all off, he used half of what he bought What is the plan of action, and if the bank is called and told to charge back the money, what will happen?
  4. Found out what the issue was I did a reinstall of windows and checked all the connections, apparently only part of my 24pin mobo power was connected, so I connected the other part and now OC mode is stable and voltage went up, no more crashes and streaming at like 400fps now. I didn't even know the i9 could run off of 18pin instead of 24pin but ok Also got rid of geforce experience, that program for noobs Thanks for all the help boys, turns out it was my mistake in the end but now its fixed
  5. Yea at the moment I have a 144hz 1080p monitor. I'll definitely upgrade to a higher resolution monitor soon. I play that resolution because I'm used to it, and honestly I prefer that resolution while playing CSGO. But if thats the reason why this is happening then alright, just as long as I can run everything else well I just wanna make sure this isnt a hardware issue in anyway so I dont find out too late about it later on if it is
  6. intel what?? and everything in this pc is set to max power settings
  7. I did one with the whole cpu being measured, and one with each individual core the highest I saw was 40% on one core, then it would drop down, when I checked the cpu as a whole it was saying 24% sometimes jumping to 26%
  8. I just played on it, the cpu was at 24% usage (this is non oc'd) and the gpu was somewhere around 28%-39% Temps on gpu and cpu never got above 45 degrees C, assuming its not giving me false readings
  9. Checked everything you guys have recommended I check so far. idk what going on tbh
  10. gonna try that tonight, I played some games today (far cry 3) and streamed on counter strike (which actually made my fps go up) and my gpu was sitting at around 40-50% usage the whole time, also tried this with hyper threading disabled
  11. OK FOLKS I've done the following - Re installed drivers - Re Seated GPU - Connected 2 separate 8 pin pcie cables to the gpu - turned hyper threading on and off (made little to no difference) - put the gpu on OC mode - put the cpu on OC mode fps went up by 50, now we hitting 300, with the occasional 400 when looking at a wall on a workshop map not sure whats happening here, but I need some more things to try
  12. Already done, its bouncing between 200-250 I just noticed that I have 1 pci e connector that splits into 2 plugged into this card. Do i need to use 2 separate pcie cables for it? or is the one pcie cable that splits into 2 good? and could this also result in the crashes ive been getting while in oc mode?
  13. Built new computer yesterday and I'm only pulling 200ish fps in csgo 1024x768 stretched havent had a chance to try any other games since they arent dled yet, but is there some issue here? I've seen people getting 400-600 on 1080p while streaming with the setup I have on top of this the whole computer usually freezes if I try to use the OC mode on the motherboard through the bios. is there something im missing? because my laptop with a 3gb 2060 pulls the same performance on counter strike PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU Intel Core i9-9900K 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor $488.89 @ OutletPC CPU Cooler Corsair H100i RGB PLATINUM 75 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler $139.99 @ Amazon Motherboard Asus PRIME Z390-A ATX LGA1151 Motherboard $179.89 @ OutletPC Memory G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory $94.89 @ OutletPC Storage Crucial P1 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive $99.85 @ OutletPC Video Card Asus GeForce RTX 2080 Ti 11 GB ROG Strix Gaming Advanced Video Card Case NZXT H700 ATX Mid Tower Case $109.98 @ Amazon Power Supply Corsair RMx (2018) 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply $137.99 @ Amazon Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total (before mail-in rebates) $1281.48 Mail-in rebates -$30.00 Total $1251.48 Generated by PCPartPicker 2019-09-20 22:15 EDT-0400
  14. Ok, I will try that. But is the pc and monitor alone enough to be too much? Those are the only 2 things plugged to this outlet and no I dont have that switch
  15. built this pc yesterday and encountered these problems: -Plugged in ethernet and pc turned off (as if you unplugged it, but the lights stayed on) -Plugged in mouse and keyboard and then computer turned off (as if you unplugged it, but the lights stayed on) -Launched far cry 3, computer did the freeze noise and everything froze, no blue screen though, just eventually restarted after 30 seconds -Randomly everything froze and then it restarted Specs Core i9 9900k (not overclocked rn) Asus RTX 2080ti Advanced Asus prime z390-A motherboard 16gb G skill RGB ram ( 2x8gb and yes they are in the correct slots for dual channel) corsair RM 850x Gold certified corsair h100i RGB pro system temps never got above 60 degrees, and I wasn't doing anything intensive when any of these issues happened (except for launching far cry 3 apparently) I bought from amazon so i can have replacement parts shipped out quick if anything seems defective, but I dont know how to trouble shoot this issue since I don't have any spare parts or anything to use for troubleshooting Edit: I had the motherboard bios running in OC mode (like 4.7ghz) and as of now I turned that off and am running stock
  16. currently taking a japanese class, and the letter system is crazy.... after a while of trying to memorize, i realized the normal method of just repeatedly copying down letters wont work here cuz theres just too many and not enough weeks in the life time new strat please
  17. yea, at this point I figure if the 2080ti is 700$ more expensive than the 2080 for like 20% more performance, I dont think another 200$ for the OC version is going to do enough good to justify the money being added
  18. Is there a big difference between the OC and the one I got? I think next time I build pc I’ll take vacation in Alberta, save 10% and have a good time
  19. apparently artifacts and randomly dying used to happen or still happens.... hope it doesnt with mine though
  20. https://gyazo.com/298261d1bbd253de9fe5ddf221e50d36 yea, the first time I bought I made the mistake of just buying it without looking at prices and ended up paying 280$ extra to some random seller. This is the second attempt after cancelling that order
  21. amazon doesnt include tax, nothing in canada includes tax except the liquor store cheapest 2080ti I found in general online was 1400$ cheapest strix one I found was the one I bought for 1699 plus tax (15%) and shipping (paid for the 33$ 2 day) , and some used ones for 1500$ but I dont buy used
  22. Bought a 2080ti off of new egg, and it said it comes with 2 free games. The total at checkout was 1901$ with tax and shipping. When i logged onto my bank account, newegg had charged me twice, once for 1901$ and once for 91.98$ (for the games). when I called them to ask about this, the guy couldnt explain it very well but said that I was not infact being charged the extra 91 dollars, but it was going to be discounted later on after I got my invoice... Anyone who had a similar experience can you explain whats going on because it doesnt make sense to me. just wanna understand what their system is
  23. Yesterday I made a post about the new build I ordered the parts for. Now I have a question about the graphics card. I originally ordered it off newegg without knowing it was 180$ more expensive from there, so as of today I cancelled that order and am waiting for the refund to come in so I can purchase a gpu. Now my question is, since I've been given a second chance here with my gpu money: Is there enough performance gain from 2080 - 2080ti to justify paying the extra 700$ CAD for the 2080ti. I'm not too concerned about money here or else I would've changed alot of things in this build. It is more of a dream pc for me than anything, but I also don't want to throw away 700$ for a small amount of performance gain. Purpose of this comp is to play games and stream, probably going to get a 1440p 144hz monitor soon for it (I have a 1080p 144hz right now). I also don't want to upgrade for the next atleast 4 years. https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/y2RCpG So, if there is a big performance gain going from 2080 to 2080ti, and if it will last alot longer before needing an upgrade, then I am fine with paying the extra money for it, but if not I'd like to know. Also all the other parts in this build are already finalized and purchased, just gpu I am looking for advice on.
