The 6 in 6700K say it's a 6th gen CPU, so it will work.
Provided you have the newest BIOS update, your motherboard will also support 7th gen CPU's, like the 7700K. I am not sure if that is cheaper where you live, but that may be an option.
But keep in mind, don't overpay for a (relatively) older CPU, when upgrading to a new platform would be within the realm of possibilities too.
If I am seeing this correctly, the 6700K goes for 546 AUD. For that price you can go for a B450 board + Ryzen 3600 and just keep your RAM and sell the CPU+mobo combo.
