Silverer got a reaction from TopHatProductions115 in Teslas for folding
280x = $180-250 used where I live, 970 is $450 new.
970 gets 360kppd, 280x gets 110k ppd...
Nvidia has been pretty dominant when it comes to folding actually.

Silverer got a reaction from JakeNTech in Do I need to screw all of the mounting holes?
On one of my PC's I only had one screw and 2 stands holding the motherboard in, you dont need all of them but it makes it harder to plug things into the board as it flexes. I reccommend just using as many as makes the board stable, or if its a long time build do all of them

Legit, a problem with all wifi cards. Unplug it before you install the driver. Then plug it back in.

Silverer got a reaction from FluffiestPond in Racing wheel not working
Oh hey, so it doesnt, return it even if you can get it to work by using custom wheel, it will be crap.
Had a bungie wheel back on XB Classic, used it for like 10 minutes before I gave up on it because it felt terrible.
Got a Driving Force GT, much much nicer, and they're cheaper than the 458 wheel, I got mine for $70AUD

the most important thing to remember is to fry 3 mobos and a cpu to be successful with the project

Silverer got a reaction from burnttoastnice in How long will a 16000MAh Battery Bank Last?
No phone upgrade will help me sadly... My G3 is tortured by almost always streaming music, playing games or youtube, rarely gets a break, battery lasted 9 months so not bad for the torture, stays pretty cool too.

Silverer got a reaction from Vivilacqua1 in Could I run gta5 high or med?
Friend has this exactly, you will be throttled by the i3 but you can play on high-very high above 60fps MOST of the time, turn down grass and shadows and it helps. Consider upgrading your processor to an i5 if you want smoother frames though.

Silverer got a reaction from kwljunky in Cool Laboratory Liquid Pro cut my temps in HALF!
May I ask if you researched how to apply thermal paste before you tried this option? I know liquid ultra has a different application method and if delidding doesnt change your temperatures you were clearly doing something wrong with your application of standard thermal compound. That being said you would assume someone with a custom water cooling loop would be able to properly apply thermal compound on a computer, or the person who did the loop the first time would have...
TBH I think this is more an advertising shitpost than anything else... (forgive me if I'm wrong but thats how this comes across to me)
EDIT: Funnily enough, that stuff doesnt seem to be making much of a difference, its 23C in my room, idle temps are 27 on the coldest core and 31 on the hottest, running load I go up to 55C, and I'm using $2 thermal compound with a 140mm AIO on a lidded 4770k @4.4GHz and 1.35v right now...

Silverer got a reaction from Flight1sim in how's this HTPC?
Your current cooler will, the suggested one WILL NOT, however they realised their mistakes.
Its a nice build, go ahead gpu is a LITTLE redundant however... either go bigger or dont bother though.

Silverer got a reaction from Mightyinvader in Hooking up an old telephone to the doorbell
Wireless doorbell with the speaker wires going through the motor(I assume its a motor on a dong, could be a speaker) instead of the speaker. You might need an amplifier but it should work simply enough like that. Its jenky but it should work. Might need a few diodes (leds would work) to make sure the motor only recieves DC current instead of AC however
