I'm in process of gathering parts for a new gaming build. My current machine is i5-4460 and I'm moving to a 3700X. My question is should I keep my GTX1070 or sell it to offset costs on new card (RTX2070?) or hold on to it for more Generation?
Other potentially relevant factors:
Games: Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Division 2, Hitman 2, Star Citizen (don't start ?), Assassins Creed (flavour of the year)
Current Monitor: LG 34" 5K Ultra-wide (not a gaming monitor but I use one display for gaming and work)
Build Plan: I plan to do a custom loop and OC (I want a project and I don't want to re-plumb the bathroom)
Budget: $500CAD above what I sell the 1070 for.
I have someone that will take my old machine off my hands (it's more than enough for their use case, but the 1070 would be good for them). I'm fine gaming on my current set, the new build is more about building something new (trying out water-cooling) as it is about better performance.
