I'm in the UK unfortunately rather than the US. I tend to with any significant purchases rely on a local PC specialist int eh event of any issues. I ended up picking up a i9 9900 KF - extremely happy with the upgrade. And the better half has decided to keep the previous machine for herself - which is something i wasn't expecting!

AMD is something i've not ruled out - the reason why i9 9900k vs AMD was mainly due to motherboard availability locally. Current cooler is a H150i pro i think (RGB Corsair AIO)

Hi All, Just canvassing opinions, Build a i9 9900k now - or hold off until the next Intel refresh? I'm re-purposing my i7 7700 as a media pc / machine for my better half.
