Ah yes. The ghetto addition to the audio setup has arrived.
BLON BL03s in purple and a Tripowin C8 balanced cable. I also have a pair of Spinfit tips for them.

Yeah, No! This is not good. I would start looking at opening up the maintenance contract to a local vendor.
Also, don't just accept what ever they offer.
Why do they recommend this to you? What is the SLA? Who manages the SLA? How long is the maintenance contract? Will you be breaking the warranty if you open / repair with a local agent? What other vendor could offer a better price? Toshiba Dell HP Do you need a local service, or could you move to the cloud? -

amckern got a reaction from Filingo in Does RAM not wear out from read/write cycles like flash memory?
ELI5:
Random Access Memory is a volatile memory - it has no ability to store data
The memory on a SSD is non-volatile, it holds the data in a statically charged status - when the drive starts to ware out its because the cell is either week & cannot hold a new charge (think of it like the battery on dads old iPhone), or the cell can not discharge the existing charge

amckern got a reaction from gal-m in What is a lot of money to you?
At this point in my life I would say 3 million is a lot of money (price of two average houses in my city).
Going back 15 years ago, it would have been $40, I was on unemployment back then, and had little to no money to spend.

amckern got a reaction from Radium_Angel in Most glorious way you've crashed your computer?
I have crashed my pc
Picked up an old optiplex off ebay, its got sis drivers, tried to install the windows 8 drivers and BSOD under windows 10 Back in the early 90's - had a 386 with 512Kb memory, try and insert more then 3 word art images into Word would result in word crashing and crazy artifacts in everything else until you reboot the machine. Other thing i did was crash a telephone exchange around 13 years ago by running a wildcard command on a LIV5 switch, and then force closed the console via task manager (i did not know this was posible, but when the orignal code was made in the 1970's you where meant to be polite, and wait for responses). Resulted in a the SULTAN card over heating and needing to be rebuilt by hand, the LIV5 interface card needed to be replaced, and around 8 hours of around 980 PSTN lines in a major Australian CBD. Dont run wild cards on real old computer systems, its realy is a power user tool. -
