  1. Yeah, all the components are all new, and he already sent the components one per one to the place where he bought them from, but he actually should send the whole pc for inspection. There's no computer repair shops close to here either. But yeah, it's all kind of messed up, and I'll tell him that. Thanks for all your effort though!
  2. The system runs fine with 1 stick of RAM, even 2 sticks of RAM, at the max speed on single channel, so about 2300MHz, and only on slot 3 and 4. The 1 stick of RAM doesn't run on the slots 1 and 2. But on 3 and 4, it won't go stupid, it will always work. I've found another topic on a forum where someone had the same problem and it was the CPU's memory controller that was damaged/faulty/broken, but even getting a new CPU doesn't seem to fix the issue in our case. I believe he got another faulty CPU, but you can never know for sure, and that's the annoying part. He changed his RAM twice, he changed his MoBo, he changed his CPU, and nothing really seems to work, it's annoying, even for me. He believes his RAM is still not supported, which I checked, it must be, because I literally grabbed the first decent set of RAM sticks from the QVL that was available in the Netherlands, and they should work, but they don't
  3. The website says 27 is one of the POST codes related to memory. Also like before, only slot 3 and 4 work, slot 1 and 2 are still 'locked'.
  4. Not that I know of. In the meanwhile, we sent the CPU for replacement, and we've got a new CPU, but like 8 pins were bent. He tries to boot again, and again, he gets the same code 27... The only things we haven't switched yet is the PSU and the HDD/SSD, but I highly doubt they're the problem This guy has so little luck it's unbelievable
  5. He also get's BIOS post code 27, which we also don't know what it means. Any ideas?
  6. It only starts up in socket B1 and B2, so in Single Channel config, and then it works at 2133 MHz, but I think they also work at 3200MHz if they are in that configuration.
  7. Well, we have cleared the CMOS, so no, they run even at 2133MHz even though they're sold for the stock speed of 3200MHz.
  8. Okay, I've been helping a friend of mine build and upgrade his pc. This problem started after us installing a new motherboard for his very very fast m.2 ssd, which needed gen 4 support to squeeze all the power it has out of it. We had a couple days of successful bootup, and I don't know what happened, but all the sudden, he got a C5 bios post code (his motherboard has like those digital outputs). Nothing would show up, not even his bios. The lights would turn on I believe and the fans would turn, but that's about it. He also got some 17/14/15 posts. Note that he has a - AMD Ryzen 7 3800x - 2x 16GB corsair vengeance C16 in dual channel config - ASRock B550 Steel Legend motherboard and his old board a ASUS B450 Prime - Kraken liquid cooler, I forgot, something with X73 I believe We thought the c5 code meant that something was either wrong with his memory or his cpu. We tried screwing the cpu cooler a little looser, as someone on another forum suggested. This worked. For only a couple days, then it happened again. We then thought his motherboard was broken. We sent it to get it checked, no problems, they couldn't reenact the error. We got the motherboard back. In the time we had to wait we tried the old motherboard, and even with that one it stopped working. Then we bought new memory sticks, since we thought the old ones were broken or not compatible (since they weren't on the list on the board manufacturer's website), now we also got Gskill 4x8GB ones that are compatible, with RGB and stuff. Still doesn't work. Now we think this CPU doesn't support both memory sticks and we are thinking about buying AGAIN a new pair of sticks (trust me, I tried to let him wait with making the decision, but he has trouble with that). The only thing that works, is if we clear the bios via the clr cmos jumpers, and then install the ram in slot B1 and B2, for some stupid reason. It works at the slow speed of 2133 MHz and I don't know what's wrong but we're running out of options and we honestly have no idea where this even came from and why it keeps happening. But we just want to be able to run our 32GB of ram in dual channel mode, like every sane person, and at the correct speeds they came with of 3200MHz (which should be a perfect speed for AMD Ryzen CPU's nowadays from what I remembered... No pins were bent, the RAM haven't been damaged either, the board even worked the first couple days with the older memory and the memory also worked fine on the older board The only thing that also might have some impact is that we now have two m.2 ssd's and from what I know that doesn't have any impact if you plug the HDD in the right sata that doesn't share the bandwith/lanes with the second m.2 slot, which were like port 5 and 6 (we put it in 2 I believe), the older board didn't even have a second slot and it also didn't work on there so that is also probably not the problem Please, can someone give me some advise/tips/solutions? This poor guy already spent a couple hundred to get his ssd to work and now also with new RAM and all the odds are just against him, I begin to feel bad and a little responsible haha
  9. Of course! If there's going to come a new laptop that has the same price and even better specs, ofcourse i will consider it! But I know that the price of this laptop will lower over time, and it'll stay an awesomely good laptop for the use i have for it. So I'll definitely keep it on the top spot for now.
  10. Oh well, still enough for me. They don't have full AdobeRGB coverage i noticed, which they claimed to have on the classic aero15 4k screens. I can live without but that's a thing you would almost expect if they made a laptop that's mostly targeted towards creators
  11. On recommendation by GeneXis_X, I chose the Gigabyte Aero 15 OLED SA. It contains: An Intel i7-9750H (6 core CPU) An GeForce GTX 1660ti 16 GB RAM, expandable up to 64GB 256GB M.2 SSD ( Might even be PCIe speeds!) + extra M.2 slot for secondary storage 94 Wh Battery for 8.5 hours of office use when Optimus is activated 4K UHD AMOLED panel, 15 inch, X-rite Pantone Certified display Thunderbolt 3, DP 1.4 USB Type C 3.1, HDMI, 2 USB type A 3.1 gen 1, USB Type A 3.1 gen 2 and a Card Reader in the IO Slim and elegant design, only 2kg's heavy and <20mm thick Per-key RGB control for even more customization. Everyting that's bold is what were specs that are pretty important to me or are very nice to have in a laptop and what finally made my choice The exact model of my laptop is the Gigabyte Aero 15 OLED SA-7US5130SH At the moment of writing this, the laptop is $1877, but I will probably buy it somewhere next year when the price has lowered even more. Thanks all for your help, it really helped me make a good choice, and without you all I probably bought some high end 2500+ euro gaming laptop even though that's not even needed in my case.
  12. Yeah, I have noticed, however the name of the 2019 generation contains OLED, instead of Classic. The design is pretty different too so I think I got it right this time. I have to wait until the laptop will be available here in the netherlands, but as far as I know there's no online store here which is a certified Gigabyte laptop seller. I'll have to contact multiple shops in order to ask for availability. Luckily I have plenty of time, and I don't need much more of a better laptop than this, so over time the price will lower a bit and the availability will spread further. I hope to be able to buy this laptop somewhere spring 2020, at most Summer 2020, but we'll consider any other options that may pop up at that time later. I want to thank you greatly for the help!
  13. Well I found out that if you search for Aero 15 Oled you get the improved aero 15 over the classic one. Is that what you mean by it? There's also like a little slidable door for the webcam. Is that the one?
  14. I can't seem to find the 2019 model. Whats the model number of it?
