I'm not in the position to choose what to upgrade. I've got someone looking to get rid of a 980 for 70 USD, which is why I'm asking. That's all the budget I have, and I'm living in Ecuador, so it's not like I can get anything even close to that for just 70 dollars.

I'd say mostly Illustrator, Lightroom and photoshop. There's also the occasional After Effects and premier pro. But if I see any improvement in export times in lightroom and media encoder I'd be happy.

Hi guys, I currently have an i5 4460 and 8 gb's of ram. I'm a graphic designer/photographer using a lot of apps in the adobe creative suite. CC 2020. How much will I benefit from having a gtx 980 instead of the igpu of my 4460? There's no conclusive information online. thanks in advance

I'm in Ecuador, and gpus are stupid expensive here. There's a person leaving the country by next week and she's willing to part with the gtx 980 for just 70 bucks, which is a very good price seeing these still go for around 150-200 usd on ebay from what I can tell. I dont need one perse, and don't have money for a 100 dollar power supply, which is what a new 500-600 watt would cost me here. the thermaltake "munich" version does seem to have an 8 pin connector. and

Another powersupply I have is this one: http://nordic.thermaltake.com/products-model.aspx?id=C_00001782 from the website I get that this has a 6+2 pin, so that would work. From any PSU calculator I get 380 watts for my config, so I think that would be within spec. I'm just wondering if I'll see any benefit of the GPU in my pc..

damn, I just checked, you're right. There's no way it'll work with just the 6pin?

Hi everybody I'm a photographer and graphic designer living in Ecuador. I currently have an i5 4460 paired with 8 gb of ddr3 1600 ram without any graphics card. I just saw a gtx 980 for sale for 70 USD, which is a pretty good steal, but I'm wondering how much I'll benefit from adding this to my system. The powersupply I have is a Thermaltake TR2 430 watt. I use Illustrator, photoshop and lightroom, along with the occasional premier pro and after effects. I do not game. Will I see any benefit from adding this videocard to my machine, as in gpu acceleration for any of the adobe suite programs? And will my PSU be enough for this card, once again, not being used for gaming. thanks in advance.

That's something I could do. thanks for the tip Also I never used a registry cleaner, this install of windows is about a month old, and I've never had anything of the sorts happen to me before. It's going to be a pain in the *ss to move everything over, but that's way faster I guess than reinstalling windows.

Thanks, I've checked and I've got the files you mention, and all the permissions and owner details are correct. I also created another user account from within powershell, and in that account it opens up the settings just fine.. This is sooo weird. Also when I open the "SystemSettings" application, the one with the blue icon, it doesn't do anything..

I just uploaded a screenshot from the snipping tool within windows. Here's another attempt: Also I was able to uninstall some updates but I'm still having the problem. Right now it said to reboot for another update, which I did, but still the same problem. Guess I'll wait until a next update and if that doesn't fix it I might have to reinstall windows.

Is there a way to check which version of windows you're on without getting into the settings? I'm part of the windows insider program. I'm downloading the windows media creation tool now to download the iso and see if I can fix windows that way, without formatting. If not maybe I'll wait a couple of days to see if windows downloads a new version by itself and fixes the problem
