  1. I think your setup should work, consider setting the fans on your D15s to flow from the back to the front (reverse of normal) I have the regular 011 Dynamic and got the best results as follows Bottom - empty (intake fans here increased GPU temps by a few degrees, I think it made more turbulence than actual flow to the GPU) Side - exhaust Top back 1 x 140mm fan intake Top front 2 x 120 fans exhaust Rear 1 x 80 mm fan intake AMD wraith prism cooler
  2. I use a corsair k63 keyboard, corsair lapboard, wireless mouse, and a variety of controllers. IMO wireless is mandatory for a couch / recliner setup. TKL keyboard is 100% the way to go, your not at a desk and space/comfort probably is a concern. I landed on the K63 as it was (at the time at least) the only wireless, back lit, mechanical keyboard. I am on a couch, the lapboard is nice at times and a pain at times, its really easy for me to use the mouse on the seat next to me. Certainly happy I have the lapboard, its great for FPS games, but I am more likely to not use it for space and bulk reasons. Short of 'most' FPS games I am more likely to use a controller if its supported, but I spent years playing consoles...
  3. Yes to blocking, almost every attack can be blocked at the cost of stamina. If I remember the early game shield only blocks about 75% of the damage, but it doesnt take long to get better shields. Swinging your shield to the left is your parry, timing this is tricky and not all attacks can be parried. But where it works its always worthwhile, it can be a gamble because if you miss you take a full hit. IMO start to practice this on the mob enemies once you get the basics down, 100% possible to be very successful without parrying. You might not be able to get any of the mentioned items before Ludex, its been a while but I dont remember there being much in the tutorial area. You can set the firebomb to a hot key, probably up or down on the D pad, again its been a while. I cant even remember of the firebombs do any significant damage to ludex. The obtuse nature of these games is a bit of a downer at the start but actually becomes one of their major charms once everything starts to click.
  4. It was mentioned a few posts up, your invincible for a few frames while rolling, this is a key game mechanic. Try and roll through his strikes. Block, dodge, roll, and to a lesser extent parry are super important to these games. Gotta get the timing down. For the most part getting greedy with your attacks will get you killed as well, get in for two or three hits and get out.
  5. #1 rule for these games is be patient #2 is learn the bosses moveset, every boss will have an opening after an attack or combo. #3 is your own timing Once you get in this mindset you realize that souls games are about being methodical and learning rather than 'hard'.
  6. Yes it is a very good fan against a filter. There are fans that will move more air against restriction, but I dont think there is anything that can move as much air nearly as quiet.
  7. 3x120 will move more air. If noise is at all a concern, I suggest 3x A12x25, they are worth the money. Up against a filter the A12x25 run quieter and move more air than the standard A14. Since your looking at the industrial version noise might not matter to you?
  8. Noctua D15 is probably the gold standard of air cooling, and certainly overkill here. The U12A, BeQuiet coolers mentioned, or similar will probably handle anything you could reasonably do with the 3700X. I dont know anything about the Dark Base 700 case, But IMO if your hitting 75 degrees at only 40% usage you should put some effort into fixing the case airflow as well. The best cooler cant do much if its sitting in hot air... Edit, if I move on from the Prism I will likely get a Scythe Fuma 2, I would get a U12A but I have a height limitation.
  9. Question is why do you want to change the cooler? Looks? Thermals? Noise? because you want to? Do you run your chip stock or at some level of overclock? On a stock chip the prism should run both cool and quiet, assuming your case has average or better airflow. A mild overclock, depending on use case it can be argued that the prism might be OK, however this would be when an aftermarket solution shines. Every cooler mentioned will run quieter when going full tilt, however this matters comes back to your use case. I run the prism on low fan speed and have my case airflow setup fairly well, with the chip running stock I cant crack 73 degrees (running stress tests) and the prism stays reasonably quiet. In games (my use) I never hear the prism. When using PBO and the 200 mhz auto OC, the prism cant keep up on low fan speed during stress tests but is still mostly quiet in games. Upgrading for looks or because you want to, pick something you like and enjoy!
  10. I do my fan control in the BIOS. I have an ASUS x470 prime, I'd imagine the fan control would be the same as your X570 tuf. I ended up setting all fans to the silent profile, the CPU boosts to almost the same regardless of 68 or 72 degrees and the near silent running is worth way more to me than 25mhz. When getting the fans dialed in, fan orientation made the biggest difference in temperatures. I run negative pressure and flow from back to front and that made most of the difference, flow balance between a couple of the fans also impacted things more than I would have thought. That said with a different case and a different cooler about all I can really comment on is that I think your CPU temps should be better with the dark rock pro. I should have mentioned in the post above, GPU is a gigabyte 2070 super, it sees between 66-70 throughout the blender & heaven benchmarks
  11. Is Furmark that much more intense than a blender & heaven loop? I have a different case but a 3700X with the stock cooler I can get it as low as 64 degrees on a blender & heaven loop, thats with crazy noise tho, 68 degrees with moderate noise, and 72 degrees running quiet. I agree with the OP i would expect better from a dark rock pro 4. OP, I would crank all the fans to 100% in the BIOS, setup your benchmark, let it get up to temp, and start playing, partially restrict fans one at a time, switch orientations, etc to see what the best case scenario is, from there turn down the fan speed to something tolerable noise wise and see where the temps land.
  12. I thought that vertical mount was more for looks than anything. I think with an AIO I would start with the AIO up top with the fans intaking. And set the side to exhaust. This in theory should get airflow over the GPU and motherboard. A bit of experimentation will probably be needed to optimise...
  13. Can't speak for your specifics because of the AIO. I get the best cooling with side exhaust, top rear intake 140mm, top front exhaust 2x120mm, and no bottom fans. Cpu cooler is a Wraith Prism on a 3700x. Bottom fans added temp to both cpu and gpu.
  14. I have my new build setup with negative pressure. I was able to get significantly lower temps and lower fan speeds doing it this way. Couldn't agree more with airflow and low turbulence, pressure one way or another shouldn't matter. If you have the patience take the time to test all the possible configurations, the results might be surprising. I went from positive pressure and a conventional setup (3 fan bottom intake / 3 fan front intake / 3 fan top exhaust) and ended up with negative pressure, less fans (bottom empty / 3 fan front exhaust / 2 fan top front is exhaust and 1 fan top rear is intake) the CPU dropped 8 degrees and the GPU dropped 4 degrees, and the fans run slower and quieter.
