  1. Hello, Gigabyte Aorus X570 Elite Wifi I just did a rig teardown, upgrades, and clean windows install. I decided to go with an EVGA 2080 super XC as my new GPU. When I power on my machine, the GPU fans rev up real high for about 2 seconds and then transition to 0 RPM. The card is powered, and working, however the fans don't spin until I had defined the curve with Afterburner. I have 2 monitors - displayport (monitor1) and hdmi (monitor2). When I turn the machine on, the loading screen with the manufacturer on it loads as if it were using the integrated graphics on the HDMI monitor (monitor 2). Just as it is ready to hit the windows lock screen, it swaps back over to full HD and onto the first displayport monitor (monitor 1). Inside the device manager, the adapter is there and the card shows enabled. The latest nvidia drivers were reinstalled. Is this normal to have such a delay in the graphics utilization like that during the boot? And any ideas on the GPU revving as so during boot? Thanks!
  2. Hello, I am upgrading from an MIS Gaming Plus X470 to a Gigabyte Aorus X570 Elite. Is this process as simple as plugging in the hardware from the prior mobo and moving on/ booting same as before? I need filled on in this process, I would like to maintain my drives but I know this may be too good to be true.
  3. I will prob try it and if it works I'll just do a recovery install of windows as a fresh run just in case I get errors. Thanks and cheers
  4. I'm seeing that there is a good shot I can just fire it up okay, and replace the missing drivers. If the drivers vary too wildly, it will boot into recovery mode in which I can provide my account/ product key to reinstall without scrapping the other stuff on the drive. Does this sound right? Apologies, never done a mobo upgrade so I am just looking to see what to expect! Thanks for the help
  5. Note taken on the board. So no way to fire up all the components and jump back in? I must wipe my drive?
  6. Hello, A family member of mine is interested in building a pc for light gaming and primarily work applications. I am interested in giving them my motherboard and ram and upgrading my own - However I am not quite sure how the mobo replacement process typically goes. I am currently running a Ryzen 7 3700x and 1080Ti into a flashed bios MSI X470 Gaming Plus mobo. I am looking to upgrade to the X570 Platform with the MSI X570 Gaming Edge Wifi to pick up some faster ram capability as well as wireless network capability. I understand that a new motherboard is deemed as a new "computer" by Windows, but is essentially everything transferrable without the need to wipe all of my drives and reinstall OS? I know I can tag my windows license onto my microsoft account, but what exactly is the process in installing a new motherboard with the same components? If someone could fill me in exactly on the process, and how I need to configure accordingly, I would appreciate it. Or if there is some magic where I can just rebuild and flip it back on and get it going fairly normally (not likely). Cheers and Thanks
  7. Yea thanks, again, it was weird how it was not showing up at all. It's running with the 2600, now I just need to update BIOS for the 3700x support. Thanks again
  8. Actually, I just went in and got it. For some reason the drive was not appearing on the priority list anywhere. But when I went into settings and looked at the drop down menu, it (w/ uefi) was able to be added into the priority loop. Thanks!!!!!
  9. I turned off legacy mode but then it removes the drive from the priority list. There is no other bootable drive
  10. Should not be, the computer booted, then I swapped CPUs, the drive was never touched. Has remained mounted and secured
  11. Prior to swap - was working fine, post, boot to OS, etc after swap - no post after reswap (back to original chip) - post, no boot. I have my M.2 that has the OS on it in 1st boot priority, but it is saying reboot and select proper boot device (black screen)!
  12. Hello, I replaced my Ryzen 5 2600 with the new Ryzen 7 3700x. Upon replacing the chip, the pc did not boot. To no alarm I figured I needed to update bios. I replaced the 3700x with my old 2600 and the pc did not boot, just black screen with no boot media. I rebooted and went to bios, moved my M.2 with my OS on it to first priority, and the PC still goes to the same black screen, no bootable media. If I use my other hard drive, it blue screens as no OS is on there. What is wrong???!?!??!
