ok, googling the error indicates that windows doesn't like the partition, and wont touch it because it thinks something is wrong with it. you may have to remove the partition in gparted (from the previously mentioned ubuntu installer) as windows, again, doesn't want to mess with it. after that, try again with the windows 10 installer and have windows make the windows partition.
also if you are running uefi, windows mosrt likely is going to make multiple partitions (a fat32 one for the uefi bootloader for windows called "system reserved") in addition to the main ntfs one for the os.

We are getting the Stats system going for Folding Month. Here are the people that have signed up that are showing up on the Folding at Home Servers with the Folding@Home Usernames supplied when you signed-up.

Please take a look at the results and if you can't find your Folding at Home username PM me so we can straighten it out.

Note: If you have not successfully completed at least one Work Unit (WU) and thus generated any points your name will not show up on the Stats yet.

This list is from Monday 30 Sep 2019 00:15GMT. If you have Registered since then or have started producing points since then you will show up the next time I update the list here so check back.

The NVidia drivers are kernel modules so they will remain resident until a reboot or explicitly unloaded and reloaded which I’m not certain can be done without making the system unstable.

It could be one of the libraries linked against the new driver was called when the new WU was started and that stopped the Folding process.

At any rate, after a new graphics driver, or anything that writes a new initramfs to grub is run, a reboot is usually a good idea. Excluding security updates you can generally get away with keeping an old video driver in use for a long time unless it addresses any issues you’ve been experiencing.

uumm what. steam is NOT deciding it was distribution rights because of their Software Distribution Agreement that you as a publisher have to agree to first. if steam was then how can Deep Silver even possibly pull metro exodus from steam, if as you said, steam "decided" it has distribution rights?

Soo Steam doesn't advertise, except when it advertises, but if it does, its fine because there's "no damages to steam". right. sure.
What about Metro Exodus, you know, that game that was advertised by Steam and its publisher Deep Silver, that was pulled at the last second, and that has only 200k purchases on steam?
But its fine, because steam suffered no damages from missing out on the apparently 5 million purchases* that the epic store got instead. but yes, no damages at all. </sarcasm>

Deep Silver made a agreement with Steam that in no uncertain terms states not to release on another platform at the disadvantage of Steam. if you are going to disadvantage Steam, don't sign up with Steam until your ready. Deep Silver used Steam to advertise a game, then basically spat in Steam's face, and as a result are going against it's agreement with Steam. if they don't like the terms, then they should not have agreed to them.

*: the exact sales number is not publicly known, however  Deep Silver did state sales were 2.5x more then metro last light on steam, which also does not have sale statistics. steam-spy claims that there are currently 2 to 5 million owners of metro last light redux, so going very conservative and picking 2 million, the result is a estimate of 5 million.

No you just phrased all your posts like this and expect us to assume you are not biased:

    and:
On top of saying steam popularized DRM you are clearly trying to lay the entire blame for all your woes at steams feet.  Hence why I said:

It's a very fair analysis of your posts and response.

Again resorting personal attacks,  all that shows us is you are flailing to find a rational argument for your position.

You can legally get all  the games for free?    now you are talking about piracy as if that justifies what?

Again, you are confusing your ideals and hatred for steam with actual facts.    BTW , the Bit I put in bold is purely against CS, it has nothing too do with the thread and is purely an attack.    If you can't discuss the topic then don't post.
You claimed Steam popularized DRM, failing to accept that DRM has been around decades before steam and that content has actually been far less impacted by DRM since steam is not up for debate.  If you wish to change your stance to only talk about steam then choose something that is actually debatable and stick to your arguments.   It's not just me that has interpreted your post the way it was, reading the thread at least 4 others also read the same thing.  If you genuinely think your inconsistencies are trivial then either explain why they are trivial yet still important enough to warrant being used in your argument or don't use them as part of your argument.

And the fact that your rebuttal boils down to this, means you either haven't understood what I've been posting all along, or you're being intentionally disingenuous about it.  Either way, I still see no reason to continue.  And on that note, I'll completely bow out.

Don't forget Steam Workshop and Mod support, it's not like the older/manual way is hard but what Steam offers in this way is so much easier and handles updates to those mods automatically, it's damn great.

StarForce is literal hell reincarnated in to digital form that pulls you in to it's pit of fire. I'd rather a kick in the balls for every 5 minutes of game play than have that installed on my computer again.

Whoa! So code wheels, fuzzy-bit, StarForce and so on weren't before Steam and not popular? Oh, you have so much to learn about DRM and half of it will make you blush and hope Steam was done at least decade earlier. Even EGS is a good choice when compared to many other DRM options out there, like really if someone wants StarForce back, go and shoot yourself before that cancer spreads.

This seems like both a logical move from Valve's perspective, and something good for consumers.  If game devs are going to post their game to Steam, let it gather attention and hype for weeks or months, and then pull it at the last second, it's deceiving consumers and spamming the Steam game store with what effectively become fake listings and ads for another platform.  If you're going to make an exclusive game, you earn the downside of being posted and advertised solely on that store.  You don't get to post it everywhere for free advertising and then pull out at the last second.  I'm not sure if other stores like uplay or origin have suffered to the same degree, but if so I hope they follow with a similar clause.
