I'm looking for some guidance on a laptop to buy for uni. I'll list some of the things I would prefer and perhaps you can point me in the right direction. The one I'm using right now is like 5 years old so its time to buy a new one.
Looking to spend no more than $900 US (but less would be nice). 15.6 inch screen would be nice but no smaller than 14 inch. 6-8 hour battery life absolutely required for me.
Using it for school mostly, don't really game much, mostly running chemistry software, writing papers, and occasionally data analysis.
Don't want a laptop that is all plastic as I'm hoping to keep it for a few years.
Don't really care much about thunderbolt 3 or usb c but if the laptop has it I would be fine with it.
