  2. Thank you fam I think that was the problem... Now getting 30fps in furmark and videos playing smoothly... GPU-Z now saying x16 3.0 @ x4 2.0 but I think that's as good as it will get. Thanks heaps!!! I did run into a problem for anyone else reading, switching x4 on disables one set of the SATA 6G connectors (Labelled E-12 as opposed to just 12) so I needed to switch the boot drive's port. Worked perfectly after that. Thank you again!!! I though I was going to have to scrap the whole thing!!!
  3. Any 2D content be it desktop, scrolling web pages, audio graphs in ableton, VLC. Never had a problem in these situations before.

  5. Hello there! Long time watcher... So I just did a reinstall of Windows after rescuing my computer my computer from a WC pump leak (I pulled the old Maggi noodles and superglue on the leak... worked wonders haha). It involved ripping the drive bays out of an old case and moving the loop and other hardware into it. After mounting the mobo I went to install the graphics card and I think the motherboard mounts are just a millimeter or two closer toward the back of the case and so I did have to jam it in a little bit to fit, but really I think all the pins are lined up and it's properly seated (just hopefully with not too much pressure on the solder joints :s). Anyway, I ended up having to reinstall windows through miraculous misfortune (thank frigger for backups), reinstall graphics drivers after them having corrupted somehow (?????) but now I'm up with a stable system again. My problem however is that games are playing fine at their usual framerates (although I haven't been able to OC the graphics as much as I usually do strangely) and youtube only just manages 720/1080 playback. Fullscreen video playback is usually fine but anything that isn't youtube or a fullscreen video like gifs, facebook, vimeo etc are terribly rendered, skipping after about a half-second of video and then only showing a frame or two every few seconds while the audio plays normally... Have I cooked my graphics card from OC/ruined the PCI mount/whatever? I've reinstalled drivers using the DisplayDriver uninstaller utility (DDU???) thing that everyone recommends... Pretty unsure of where to go from here. Sincerely, Clueless...
  6. reinstalled windows and fixed. pls delete. fixed a bunch of other problems too.
  7. Just downloaded video to test in VLC and still choppy
  8. Hey all, I'm kind of at a loss here. My games are playing at a normal framerate but any videos or GIFs that I come across while web browsing are rendered extremely slowly (about 1fps at best). I have a feeling it might be something to do with my graphics drivers which I just reinstalled/updated (and that fixed some other issues re ingame fps) but yeah basically I don't want to have to reinstall my whole windows setup... Any ideas what the problem might be?
