  1. EK-DDC pump with fan, I have it mounted to a custom solid plexi bracket. I could not fit a D5. Between stuffing the cables by the PSU and the pump there is no extra room in the case. I even had to remove the dual drive tray to put the pump in. As far as I can tell the PSU has no visible signs of damage (have not yet dissassembled it), the pump is the only thing that smelled. I used all EK fittings, fluid, and tubing. All EKWB. I'll have to see about reworking the pump->res connection to eliminate the kinkage; I believe it was not as bad when first installed. A flush, fresh fluid, and new pump.
  2. Hi. So since I built my loop about 3 months ago, I have noticed some slight brownish tinge to the flex tube next to my pump. I used quality liquid from EKWB. I read that it could be some lube from the gaskets? Anyway, I didn't really pay attention to it unitll this evening when I heard a strange deeper whirring than usual and some occasional popping, Now there is a burnt smell, the water is not flowing, and the pump is far to hot to touch. I presume the pump died due to a PSU failure, hence the popping and extreme heat on the pump. Obviously I need to replace the items. As you can see in the pics the tubing next to the pump is very gunky looking, and there appears to be a residue coating the resevoir as well. Why is this? Was this a failure waiting to happen? I also do not have much ventilation near the pump. Should I put an additional fan near the pump?
