Hi so i got a HP elitebook from a company i worked for and they ended up going belly up and so was left with this laptop but no job WOOO. I was looking to completely wipe it IE brand new windows copy and get rid of all the company crap on there but the thing is so locked down with Admin passwords for any changes to windows and the bios, i was wondering if there was anyone who could help me out with getting around them without having to change any of the storage what so ever.

so i think i fixxed the black screen issue by goin into the bios and changing pci lanes from auto to 8*8 and changing then pci gen from auto to gen 3.

Regarding the black screen I have downloaded the newest driver and it is still happening, no overclock is on the gpu. My only overclock is an all core sustained and xmp

so after building my new pc i have experienced a few little weird issues, the main one is while gaming the screen will go black that i am gaming on for a few seconds then go back to normal this only really happens after a bout an hour of playing. im using my old gtx 1060 6GB, with this https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/wNjBMv with a seasonic focus gx 850watt psu. that is the main problem the other is i dont seem to be getting power through my usb slots while the pc is off, my old pc used to do it fine but this one wont for some reason i have gone into the bios and havent found anything to change to enable

just for reference its all bought and everything bar the motherboard will be here tomorrow the motherboard is turning up on friday..... i spent an extra £1.50 on the cpu to get it here a week earlier so thought that was a good investment bearing in mind next week will be a 14 day work week for me lul

oh for a final question im going to need some thermal paste, any suggestions? or is the included thermal paste good?

well i went for the noctua as from everything i have heard they are just about the leading example for good air coolers and they arent overpriced

i have a 500GB crucial ssd but i dont actually get much time for gaming these days maybe a few hours if im lucky but i would like to enjoy those few hours instead of ripping my hair out. so i only ever keep a few on my pc at a time. i may look to getting a large HDD at somepoint as my 2TB HDD died a year ago. but i will definetyl look into changing the cooler to the u12s if they do a black version, cause im not about the brown fans
