  1. I downloaded a noise meter so if anyone wants metrics. I am currently getting 34db @ 30cm distance with the PSU fan running and that is way too loud. When the PSU turns off, the idle PC is 28db @ 30cm.
  2. Good replies man, thanks. I found somewhere that people were taling about the RMx line replacing a good fan with a crappier fan though. I cant find it again to quote it. Do you know anything about that or is it just not worth worrying about? I do really want quiet The cybenetics link you shared has a post 2018 RM550X that is louder than the previous version, so that would seem to agree. I have also read about replacing the PSU fan myself with a high quality fan. I would consider that an option but am interested in your 2 cents on that. I would not do this without judging the fan at stock. A caution to the future reader, don't consider this if you don't know the dangers of disassembling a PSU.
  3. Money aside (ok, $250 max?), what is the quietest recommendation? I find it very hard to find any sort of comparison on noise. The only way to learn about the noise is 1 by 1 research.
  4. Well ok, a bit more backstory then. I have a PS already. It seems to be on or off though, there is no ramp up of fan speed. It just turns on and is a jet engine for about 5 mins, then its off for 15 mins. I went with a 1kW supply thinking I would be well under the load and it would never turn on. I have ECO on but I have tried on and off. Off is just worse. This is what I have so far, including the PS which seems to be very loud. My estimated wattage is 354W on PCpartPicker. 5. Please recommend a very quiet 750W power supply for order in the US. If I can get it under $130, great. I will pay more if I have to for very quiet/silent. Thanks.
