  1. Thank you very much GoldenLag! You've been a great help. That's alright, I like the case enough to get a new PSU. It's in great condition, I'm sure I can resell it.
  2. EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 8 GB SC GAMING ACX 3.0 Black Edition Video Card Right, the case is too small for an ATX power supply. SFX, right? My thoughts exactly.
  3. The GPU is a GTX1070. It'll be upgraded down the line, but for now I'm almost always bottle-necking at the CPU. The PSU is the Corsair 850 W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply Oh, that's great! I've been looking to get an M.2 drive for awhile now, I guess no better time than now.
  4. I'm sorry, I'm not sure what you mean by that.
  5. Wow, that was fast! Thank you very much! I'm actually porting over a graphics card, storage and a power supply from my current ATX Mid-Tower build, but replacing everything else with current gen parts. However, it seems I'll need to swap out my two Hard Drives now as well. I'm looking at a completed system around $1,500 including the parts a I won't need to purchase because I already have them. So you're right about in my price range. I love that case though! I feel like the horizontal MOBO mounting will really help reduce physical strain on the graphics card due to rocking.
  6. 1) Thanks for the input! 2) The PC will only be used at marinas, using a typical 120v ac outlet at the dock. Power won't be an issue. 3) I'm currently looking into exactly that, good catch! 4) So they do exist! 5) Looking into it for the laptop, but it gets expensive fast....
  7. This was my thought as well, but I am curious as to what other people think. I really would rather do hard drives to keep cost down, but I agree the risk is higher. You think the hard drives will definitely fail though?
  8. Sorry, I meant a water-cooled case. Not a water-cooled CPU. My though there was; if the case has no air intakes or outlets, and transfers heat only by an internal heat sink and external radiator, then it could theoretically be totally waterproof. Thanks though!
  9. So, my dilemma is this: I've been an avid gamer for many years and don't plan on giving that up anytime soon. However, I've also decided that I want to live on a boat and to that effect, I've purchased a 33' sailing yacht. Now, perhaps you've seen a problem with this. Electronics don't like water, and hard drives don't particularly appreciate being tossed around. I'm wondering, is anyone aware of a waterproof/resistant case? Perhaps a totally sealed case with water-cooling? Though, it shouldn't be submersed at any point, so water-resistant might be good enough. Also, are there any hard-drives that would withstand being on a boat in rough water, or should I limit myself to using only SSDs to combat the heavy motion? Any ideas are greatly appreciated! I really intend this to be a brainstorming session for fellow PC builders. With the exception of the case, I'm not looking for a component list. Also, if anyone can foresee any other issues that will arrive by virtue of this desktop being mounted on a yacht, please raise them here! Thanks, Andrew
