    I tried ebay and aliexpress and had no luck. I also found no mention of it on HardWareSwap or the LTT Classifieds, unfortunately. I was hoping someone who had one would see my post since several people mentioned it on various forum posts from around 2013. So it's a matter of someone having one from back then, seeing this post and being willing to sell it to me. I don't have the highest hopes but I have to try.

    So basically I found out about this case through some old forum posts and websites, and it's absolutely perfect for my home NAS project and some other things I want to do. It really has everything I want and need down to the exact number of 5.25" bays. Alas it's from like 2007 and has been out of production for so long I can't find it anywhere. No official retailers or even ebay. There was apparently a revision a little later on that has better fan support and even USB 3 but if I can find any version I would be happy. If anyone has one they'd be willing to sell, or knows where I can get one in this day and age, that would be great. Any help is appreciated. I even reached out to Lian Li but they just told me it wasn't available anymore and to look at their newer cases.

    The card you're talking about takes 8 lanes and doubles them so you have 16 (4x4). But what I'm looking for is the exact opposite, which would take 16 lanes and combine them into just 4 lanes, quadrupling the speed of those 4 lanes. I don't think the adapter you're using would be able to do what I'm describing. At least not without heavy modification. It would have turn PCIe 2.0 x16 into PCIe 4.0 x4. Or maybe PCIe 3.0 x8 into PCIe 4.0 x4, since that seems to be more feasible. I appreciate your perspective though

    I didn't know older motherboards couldn't boot off of PCIe storage. So I guess that definitely ruins my plans from the get go. And it's too bad it's not as simple as merging pins somewhere on the card and using firmware and a driver to make it work somehow. I knew that would never work but I was hoping there was something out there. Maybe it would actually make some sense to adapt a gen 4 ssd to 8 lanes of PCIe 3.0. Or even a card that supports two gen 4 SSDs on a 16 lane slot. But if it really is that expensive it just doesn't make any sense. Thanks for your answer

    Every generation of PCIe is twice as fast as the last. This means 16 lanes of PCIe 2.0 is equal to 8 lanes of 3.0 and 4 lanes of 4.0. However, if I plug a 4.0 SSD into a 3.0 slot, it'll use just 4 lanes, cutting the bandwidth in half. And using a 2.0 slot would cut that in half again, leaving you with a fourth of the bandwidth. My question is if there's a way to use all 16 lanes in a 2.0 slot. To adapt them to the 4 lane connector on the 4.0 SSD and get the full speed. Is there an adapter card I can use? I would appreciate any help.

    Yeah, we're aware that it's kind of not worth keeping at this point, but also we don't currently have the money for a new server. Things are tight, and the pandemic certainly hasn't helped. Thanks for being so helpful and quick to respond though!

    Yeah, with prices being so inflated, there really isn't much you can do buying new right now. Buying used is a good idea but it varies wildly depending on your area, so it's hard to know what you can get

    I honestly recommend waiting a bit before building your first PC. Parts availability has been really bad lately and costs have gone up significantly. I would wait at least a few months for things to stabilize. That being said, PC Part Picker does have a parts guide for around this budget!     The company I work with has a relatively old server with SAS drive bays. These drives have filled up and need to be replaced. They are mechanical, and I'd like to upgrade them to SSDs. I know SAS SSDs exist, but we happen to have a few NVMe M.2s we aren't currently using. I have very limited experience with SAS and was wondering if there is any compatibility between both standards.     I'm in the US so shipping is fairly easy. The Fuma 2 technically fits but with literally half a milimeter left over, manufacturing tolerances could make it not fit. I don't really want to take that risk.

    Yeah, Noctua performs great but I really don't understand why they still use beige and brown 30 years after everyone else has moved to black.

    I'm using the O11 Dynamic. I know it's designed for liquid cooling but Gamers Nexus evaluated the air flow and it's still pretty good. The lack of clearance is why I need a medium to low profile cooler. I haven't decided on ram though.

    I need a cooler for my 3900x. Because of form factor I need something medium to low profile. Is the Dark Rock TF any good? I've barely been able to find any reviews. Will it at least perform better than the included wraith prism? Otherwise it would be a waste. Does anyone have any alternate recommendations for medium to low profile air coolers? Aesthetics are important. I like that the Dark Rock TF is all black.

    I need a 4k, 32 inch display for creative work. Which means I need the best possible color accuracy. I don't intend to do any gaming on it. I was hoping I could get some recommendations because I'm a little lost and researching monitors has become stressful. 32 inches seems big, but I really need the space to get detail in my art. I'd even go bigger if there was a good option. I'm hoping to spend under 500 dollars, but if a monitor is perfect, I'd consider a little more.

    Like the title says I need a good IPS monitor for digital art and graphic design. I need really good color accuracy and good viewing angles. I would consider 1440p if it was an amazing deal but I'm really hoping for 4k. I'm not going to use it for gaming much, if at all, so high refresh rates and low response times really don't matter. I also don't care about G-Sync or Freesync for the same reason. I'm looking for something that's 27 inches or more. The bigger the monitor, the more detail I can work with. I have a really small monitor and borrowing my friend's huge one for a bit changed my life. I found a 43 inch one by AOC (u4308v) which tempted me but it only has one review and I didn't want to take such a big risk. I won't complain about bezels if the panel is good. I'm hoping to spend 500 USD or less, but if something is just right I'm willing to spend a little more. I would really appreciate any advice. I've been trying to find a good monitor for days and I'm feeling pretty lost.

    I just want to thank everyone for these good responses. They definitely make me less paranoid about buying a monitor. I think I'll take Energycore's advice and start a thread asking for advice on buying a monitor.

    I've been looking up monitors for a few days now and I'm frustrated. Every single monitor on Amazon has bad reviews. Dead pixels, ips glow, varied color temperature. Even when you go up in price group, there are a few reviews that seem catastrophic. Is quality control just terrible for all monitors? Will I always be at risk for receiving a terrible panel? I can't be the only one that's noticed this. It's getting really stressful looking at all these monitors and finding nothing good. Can someone tell me if I should be worried or if these reviews are fake?
