  1. I would, but VESSEL'S PAYMENT SYSTEM IS BROKEN. Tried signing up today, and it kept saying "Payment Failed", on Edge and Chrome, on two different PCs on two different networks. So no. I will not be signing up.
  2. Real quick though... WHY. WHY. WHY. do you have a Gt 720 with a 5820K? I'm sure there must be a good reason, but I can't think of any.
  3. Personally, I'd be inclined to get the EK Predator 240 or 360. They are both good coolers that can be expanded into a full loop in the future if you want. I may be biased here, but the ability for a full loop... MUST HAVE.
  4. Honestly, a 380X is a 380X is a 380X. Brand matters little to none for base performance. a few might be built for OC, some with better cooling, but I always just get the cheapest one available to me at the time. the difference between a $250 380X and a $280 380X isn't nearly as big as the difference between a $250 380X and a $240 380.
  5. I assume you mean menial, not mental, lol. Anyway, I have a full custom water loop, So I'd get the Reference so I can put a water block on it easily.
  6. Already Running a Phantex Enthoo Luxe and full custom hard-line waterloop... The VR scene isn't my thing (yet) but good call there. I might get into it once it doesn't suck. (My friend has a DK2 and it kinda turned me off to the whole thing)
  7. SSD Only is Ideal, But my steam library is a bit... Prohibitive. I Have 1 250Gb 850Evo now, gonna buy another soon for Raid 0 I think, but again, I may choose a bigger option (TWENTY 850 EVOs IN RAID 0 BECAUSE SPEEEEED)
  8. So this is a story all about how my computer got tricked, turned upside down... Ok, for real, I have a 4790K, 24Gb Ram, a 980Ti, and a Quadro 600 in my computer. My motherboard is the Asrock Extreme 6 z97. My monitor is an Asus PB258Q, 60Hz, QHD. I play mostly Rocket League, Cities Skylines, etc. Obviously, Overkill. However, I LOVE overkill. So, I am going to upgrade my PC again. Don't ask why, it is because I enjoy working on it. Now the real question... How? I don't want to drop my 4790K, ram, and motherboard yet, and the quadro is kinda needed for my SolidWorks That means I have 2 real options for upgrading my PC, drop the quadro and go SLI 980Ti's (when the new gen comes out and I can snag a used 980Ti reference card cheap) with 2 850Evos in Raid 0, or keep the quadro, keep the single 980Ti, and go 950Pro for 'dat NVME. I'm torn, not sure when, or if, the upgrade will happen, but want to know opinions. Thoughts?
  9. I did this with an old 5150 xeon. just make sure the drill is set to High speed, and go slow through it. if you use a fresh metal bit, you'll be fine.
  10. Eh, the GPUs I wouldn't bother with for now. Open CL should do just fine. I would bump for a better processor though.
  11. you'd connect the positive lead from the solar panel to the middle of the red wire, the negative lead the the middle of the black wire.
  12. EVGA! However, if the 500 watt 80+ isn't good enough, I'm sure you could snag a nice one with some of the money you saved!
  13. I know we all love building our own PC's, but this deal caught me as too good to not look into. for just under $1200, this PC has a 6700k, gtx970, an actually good power supply, a Hyper 212, a 2TB HDD, a 256GB SSD, and 16GB of 3000Mhz Ram. Total cost using the same components on PCPart Picker? Just under $1350. cable management looks like balls, but for the $150 you save, you could get a SEXY case to put it all in. http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.aspx?sku=923300&utm_source=EMAIL&utm_medium=eNews%20Special%20Ed%2020160314&utm_content=5059518349&utm_campaign=E3454
  14. lines up with the 4590. I think it is a better TIM and a 100mhz boost that makes the 4590
  15. 'cause the 4460 is just the Haswell refresh of the 4440.
  16. 4570 is non-overclocking, so just use the same board you'd use with a 4460, but the 4570 is SLIGHTLY better. I wouldn't pay $5 more for it, but get it if it is cheaper.
  17. the 4570K doesn't exist. It is either the 4570, the 4670K, the 4690K, 4590, etc....
  18. Here's the best question yet... Even IF drilling would have worked... why on earth would you drill the card instead of the cooler mounting plate?
  19. I tried to ween myself off vessel around CES time because the free year is almost up... the temptation to switch back is huge though... For real though, wasn't Vessel supposed to be ad free? They really started to piss me off with the Uber loud ads playing all the time (Looking at you, Jaguar ad)
  20. Cities Skylines is a VERY CPU bound game, so it is likely to peg your CPU at max load for a good chunk of time. 75 C isn't terrible for a stress test, so I'd be temped to say it isn't bad here, but if it is concerning, you could always re-apply thermal compound, or try re-seating the CPU, or lastly, just clean any dust from the H100
  21. If you can, look into anodizing. that makes it whatever color you want, has little to no impact on performance, and is freaking cool looking
  22. I would like either the mouse, for use with my laptop when on the go, or the keyboard, for the same purpose, but mostly because it is fun to make people wonder what the hell is wrong with me, typing away on a full sized keyboard, attached to a laptop that has a full sized keyboard.
