  1. So a raid as a boot drive is a bad Idea, that's what the dual nvme drives were, so Ill use a single SSD or NVme as a boot drive . I have a suggestion from a friend to use a single large 14TB drive to access a raid array with several 4TB drives and I was told raid 5 was the way to go with this configuration using true NAS. BTW the AIO was in the system the R7 2700x system it came from so I'm re-using a part instead of using the stock cooler. I am a windows user only because it was the culture I was used to. I am not opposed to change, I want something reliable and familiar that is intuitive and reliable.
  2. Budget (including currency): 600 usd Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: not sure what server software as long as it is easy to configure. Other details Ryzen 7 2700x, 32GB ram @3200mt, ROG/Crosshair x470, to cool perhaps a 240 AIO and Noctua redux 120mm @1700 rpm fans to cool it and I have a TT H21 to house the components. I would love some configuration advice, recommended components and such. What software would the community recommend that's secure that will require minimal maintenance. I will use it to store files pictures and video mostly stuff from older HDD and I want to trash those. I want to have set of HDD RAID drives and another raid as a gaming server for some classic games using 2 Nvme drives in raid. I will boot from a separate drive.
  3. yes you can modify the case to take a ATX power supply. You must remove or move the lower psu shelf under the power supply, there are youtube videos for this procedure.
  4. Im doing a simular build with this TU-150 and ROG Impact VIII mainboard. Im going to use the R-9 5900x for the processor and cooling it will be the ROG Ryou 120 in push pull configuration. I was wondering can a AMD 6800xt fit in there with two fans under it. I'm using LIan Li Bora RGB fans under that card or do I need to recalibrate with slimmer fans and what would you recommend?
  5. This is my 12th personal build though I have built many for friends and family. My goal here this will be my personal everyday rig, ill do some design work, light gaming, surf the web, whatever I may be into one minute to the next. I own a retro gaming rig which sports an sandy bridge i7-2600k processor with a AMD RX580 x graphic card which has a 480GB windows 10 boot drive, 4 TB hard drive storage with a ton or roms and I play GTA 5 like a teenager. I do 1080p ultra with that and get about 100fps with that game. Some may ask why not make this new rig your gaming rig, its simple the 2600k is a great processor and I just finished that build May 2019.
