  1. It has been a bit over two months since i bought all of my parts, and the return policy from the shop is only a month.. Yes, i also thought of doing that manually, but Corsair only gives the 16 18 18 36 54 timings on their page, but in bios there are a lot more timings that could be changed. And i checked, after applying XMP, those timings change as well.
  2. So, the memory part number is the same as the one I typed earlier. Also the timings in BIOS are the same as the ones of CPU-Z (downloaded 1.90.0 everything's the same). I tired to apply the XMP profile again and run some stress tests, during those stress tests it was stable. But as soon as i started a game boom crash. Really don't get this. I used some benchmarking software to run some tests on 2133Mhz stock and 3200Mhz with my current 'bad' timings, and the results with 3200Mhz were indeed a bit better. For me that would be enough i guess, but i am a bit worried if those bad timings could affect the lifespan of my ram, really strange that the xmp is not working properly
  3. Good morning mate! So i just decided to download CPU-Z to see if the 3200Mhz shown in the task manager is actually true. It appears to be so. Also tried running a stress test, benchmarked it as well, and no problems hehehe. Though i am still not sure about the timings, they are completely different from yours. But do they even matter if it actually runs on the frequency i actually want it to run at?
  4. Good day to you. I also had this problem. While i was still attending school, i had a lot of free time. I would use that free time by gaming, and boy i gamed a lot. I used to play game like Dota 2,LoL, CS:GO and other competitive games. I also enjoyed single player game with a rich story, like the witcher, dishonored etc. Then came work. And with work everything changed for me. Since i work for 8 hours a day, and i also have some other hobbies i didn't have enough time to do everything at the same time. So i had to cross some things out, the obvious one was gaming, because for competitive games you need to stay active in order to be good, and while working that is not happening. But after some time i started to miss gaming a lot. I tried browsing through steam, but the new games seemed like trash. Then i decided to buy a ps4 since it is more for casual people. Really wanted to play bloodbourne. But before playing bloodbourne i started with Dark souls, and suddenly it caught me. I was soooo into Dark souls. I wanted to try out other games but i really suck with controllers, so the choice was obvious. Build a new pc. After doing that, i started to play more and more often, i think i needed a break of gaming, but i kinda always knew that i would game again. I guess i just needed to try a new (well dark souls is not exactly new) game, that could catch me and prove it that there are indeed games that are worth playing. By writing this i hope that you will maybe try out different games, buying a ps4 is not a bad idea, because you'll play god of war and after that game you might be thirsty for other games I really recommend competitive games as well, at least for me, they are the least boring, because you actually need to get better at them, and when you rank up by defeating other players, you have this weird nice feeling haha.
  5. Hello there. So i have done a few things after i came back home. Firstly i updated the bios, i really thought that would be much more difficult. That went without any problems. After that i tried activating the XMP profile, that is when the trouble started. After activating it i tried to test it by playing Mordhau. For 5 min it was great, and suddenly poof, a black screen, and my PC rebooted. After that i couldn't even type in my windows password before it rebooted again. So the same thing like before the bios update. Then i disabled the XMP and my PC runs like normal again. But then i checked the task manager and saw that my RAM runs on 3200Mhz, turns out i forgot to change the System memory Multiplier back to auto. So now my RAM runs on 3200Mhz but without any tweaking regarding to timings. Does this even do anything, or should i just let the RAM run on 2133Mhz again?
  6. Thanks a lot, really appreciate you taking the time! After I'm back home, I'll do it and I'll keep you posted of how it went!
  7. Wow, thanks for such a detailed response! Yes, will certainly update my bios and try it then. Sorry to be a bother, but could you tell me how you updated your bios hehe. I know Gigabyte has this @bios software, it automatically updates it for you, but what about backup. How could i make a backup of my current bios, in case the new version will be corrupted or similar?
  8. Hello there. So i built my new PC : Gigabyte Aorus Elite x570 Ryzen 3700x Gigabyte Gaming OC Rtx 2080 super cmw16gx4m2c3200c16 Corsair Vengeance rgb pro 16gb 3200 Since i bought 3200mhz ram, i also want to run it at that frequency. I tried turning on the XMP profile, but it is not stable, as soon as i start a game i get bsod. I'm pretty new when it comes to overclocking, but i know that instead of using XMP profile i can set the timings manually, problem is, i have no idea what timings to choose. Could anyone help me with this, thanks in advance!
  9. Hello, i have an idea and i would like your opinion on it guys. I have a 240mm cpu radiator and was thinking of mounting it in the front of the case. By doing that, the intake air will get warmer, and the gpu temperature will increase. But since my case can mount 3 120mm fans up front i have thought of mounting my radiator at the top fan slots, the first two, and at the bottom i would leave one intake fan to get fresh air for the gpu. Would that cause any problems or would this be a nice mounting spot?
  10. I would look for a smaller profile RAM if you are going to use the Dark Rock pro 4, since it blocks the memory slots. It is a pretty big cooler.
  11. Hello, everyone! As it happens i am going to build a new PC. Not the first time building a PC, but a first time building an RGB PC. Here are all the parts that I am going to use for this build : -Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite AMD X570 So.AM4 Dual Channel DDR4 ATX -AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8x 3.60GHz So.AM4 -16GB Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO DDR4-3200 DIMM CL16 Dual Kit -RM850x ATX Modular (80+Gold) -Corsair Hydro Series H100i RGB PLATINUM -Corsair Crystal 680X -PowerColor Radeon RX 5700 Red Devil -Samsung 960 EVO 1TB SSD As you can see, there are quite a few components that have RGB lighting. This case Crystal 680X, features an RGB commander sort of thing, and I was wondering how would one use it. It looks like it has 6 connectors for RGB stuff. Does this mean that i can just plug all of those RGB fans into it, and then connect the commander to the RGB header on the motherboard? Since all of the components are compatible with ICUE i would love to use it, but for that all of the RGB goodies need to be connected to the motherboard, but this motherboard has only 1 RGB header, so will it work via the RGB commander? Also, i have never had a case with that many fans, will i need some kind of fan header extension, especially for the CPU cooler? Thank you all in advance for reading this!
