  1. No no, it's obviously okay if there are 50ish or less employees. Obviously!
  2. Steve's video drives home the fact the LMG staff need more time to put together the quality of videos people have come to expect. Basically all of the things called out here could've been avoided with more attention to detail, which simply cannot be given for every video with their current release schedules across all their channels.
  3. I've never heard of the MOTU M2 but it looks perfect. I'm going to watch some reviews and decide. Thank you!
  4. Howdy B-) I will make this quick. Basically I'm currently using a Scarlett Solo (3rd gen), along with a pair or KRK studio monitors (speakers) and Sennheiser HD 6XX headphones. My issue is that the volume knob controls both outputs. So if I want to ONLY use my headphones, I need to turn off the studio monitors. And when I'm not using the headphones I just unplug them and put them aside and turn the monitors back on. It's not a big hassle, but it isn't necessary. For example, my friend recommended the Steinberg UR22C, as it has 2 independent volume knobs. However I looked at some reviews and ultimately that product has too much background noise/hiss for recording with my condenser mic (Audio-Technica AT2020 -- I should note this REQUIRES 48V phantom power). Another solution would be to get a passive audio switch, but the problem with those is that the cheap ones don't output equal volumes to each monitor, which CAN be fixed, but I read from multiple sources that a cheap passive switch like this actually DEGRADES over time. And the expensive ones are, well, expensive. At that point I'd rather get a higher end DAC and call it a day. Just curious if anyone else has had this issue, what you did to solve it?
  5. Apple's whole shtick is to have as few different products as possible: It's easier to funnel customers' purchases It's less of a hassle to manage all their products It endows its products with a higher trust in their brand identity (i.e, if Apple bothered to make it, it "has to be good") Apple's products (generally) don't compete against themselves

  7. When I was migrating my OS to my SSD (many years ago) I ended up just doing a fresh install. Not sure if there any tools that have come out since that made this process easier.
  8. I don't know anyone still on 720P. My little circle is all on 1080P but I have a few friends on 1440P and even fewer on 4K. I look forward to upgrading to 1440P in a few years, when that time comes I might even consider 4K but for now... 1080P.
  9. do you have a 400Hz monitor? i don't see the point otherwise
  10. That's a good idea. I have a 2060 myself and while I'm perfectly content with it, it will sometimes leave a small something to be desired. It all depends on the game, but typically I'm running high/ultra settings at 120FPS (1080p). For example on CoD: MW everything is on High except for Texture Resolution, which I run at "Normal" since a few updates ago, otherwise my FPS will fluctuate between 80-120FPS which is a lot more annoying than if it just stuck to 80FPS.
  11. Not surprised since it's definitely piracy no matter how you spin it. That said, as a poweruser there was no way I'd ever ditch DX12.
  12. i'm sure you can find a second-hand 2060, up to a 2070S, for under $450 CAD now that Ampere lineup was announced
  13. so did you i wish my i5-9600k and rtx 2060 magically transformed into an i9-9900k and 2080ti with no other compatibility issues
  14. If anything wait for the new AMD/NVidia announcements. Waiting for DDR5 is like missing the Greyhound bus because you wanted to ride the bus with more wheels (and you also don't know when it's coming).
  15. Exactly. My best friend plays on Xbox from a 42", 15 year old TV that sits like 15 feet away from him, blasting the sound through the TV speakers WHILE listening to music on his phone. It makes me cringe but it's how he enjoys it. That said, before this whole Coronavirus situation, he would bring his Xbox over and we'd play together (I'm on PC) and he said he definitely notices my 144Hz vs his 60Hz (though at home I'm 99% sure his TV is 30Hz). But in the end that's not what he cares about.
