9700k is overkill for a 2060 and a dead platform.
If you want intel and think you may upgrade to a 30 series card, get a 10600k.
    If not get a 3600 and a B450/550 board.
A £50ish air cooler will also be plenty.
750W should be plenty for a 3080 or 3090 so I wouldn't go higher than that. (Wait and see though)

There's lots of ways you could cut the price, but none of these components are bad choices really.

If you want to save money, a 10600k or 10700k will perform near identically to the 10900k in games.

If you get the 10900k I would suggest checking out this video so you get a motherboard that gives you plenty of headroom if you want to overclock

Otherwise looks like an epic build. Enjoy it

Obviously check requirements when reviews come out, but 550W should be plenty.
P400A has much better airflow than the H510. Only get the H510 if you really love the aesthetics, and know that it will run hotter.
    Hope this helps

Or try and find a used GTX 1070 which would give a nice performance bump

Dont bother paying full price. Find a cheap key off amazon or  ebay for about $10 and hope it works (usually does)

that's the second biggest source of noise.

cases don't do much, unless you buy one that's designed to lower noise (they are usually worse for airflow though)

the p400a is a good case, if you are concerned of noise, get a better cpu cooler

I really loved LTT's car segment, this was a discontinued car, and Linus was enjoying explaining his rationale. I'm disappointed by how people have responded calling this an ad, and am sad that they might discontinue this. I'd say this was the best cinematography in an LTT video by far.
@LinusTech was on top in narration, great direction by @AlexTheGreatish and great work by the team altogether. I still hope that they do not let go of this segment. Please...

Building your own gives higher quality components (especially PSU and motherboard) and the knowledge and ability to upgrade it later.

marmour reacted to Stahlmann in Looking to buy 4k, 144hz+, IPS Monitor. Wanting to see suggestions in different price brackets.
Your mileage will vary quite a bit. I couldn't justify gambling on a 700$ monitor after my initial impression was THAT bad. I simply cannot recommend the G7 as there are much better monitors for much less money on the market. I'll try to steer people away from this monitor as much as possible.

I can fully recommend the LG 27GN850 and LG 27GL850-B. They pretty much share the specs with the 27GN950 but are 1440p. At 27" you won't gain much if anything at all in terms of sharpness from 4k compared to 1440p. The color performance of these leaves monitors like the G7 in the dirt and the response times and refresh rate are good enough that i didn't notice a difference between these LG 144Hz panels and the G7 with 240Hz. Not to mention they're selling for 450$. The extra 400$ for the 4K model don't seem worth it at all to me.

Edit: A good IPS panel like the mentioned LG monitors will still be a huge upgrade compared to a TN monitor. Even if size and resolution are the same.

That power supply is 190£, and you can't get 3 fans for 10£. Not to mention that 1000W is way more than what he'll ever need. 750W is more than enough, considering that something like a 10900k and 2080 ti draw around 500-550W of power under load.

marmour reacted to Haro in Can I get an opinion on this overkill PC build?
If you're just gaming, a 10600k should be plenty and gamed don't really scale up to 8 and 12 cores, and the XT lineup is more or less a waste of money.
but for gaming, a 10600k and a z490 board like a gaming edge or a vision G should be more than enough.
Or you could wait for zen 3 to come out, if you're waiting for big navi, you could also wait for zen 3 and check what it has to offer.
you could just go with something like an a2000 drive which goes for cheap usually and you can get a 1tb one for a larger boot drive.
Technically yes, though 4 sticks is more pressure on the imc so it might not be able to get to 3600 at least as easily as 2 sticks, and am4 and lga 1200 cpu's only have 2 memory channels so assuming the sticks are identical, 2x16 will perform basically the same, and you'll have room for upgradibility with a 2x16 kit.
though if you're mainly gaming, a 16 gig kit is more than enough.
But yea over all if possible, wait for zen 3 and big navi and ampere and heck what they have to offer and then make a list.
