  1. Every single phone out that has rounded edges except Samsung's ultimate flagship. Why? I like this design. It looks very nice. I want square/flat edges, but I also don't want a 1800$ phone. Is it illegal for other manufacturers to use this design, or do they just not want to?
  2. Hello! Wife would be able to play light games like Hearthstone or WoW (nothing more demanding) on a 2-in-1 laptop like a Zenbook. I'm not sure what to buy though. Do you guys have any tips? Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask.
  3. For me, it's how smartphone companies have completely given up on pop-up selfie cameras, despite them having suffered no catastrophic failures when they were a thing. They held up well, and the OnePlus 7 Pro remains to this day the best looking smartphone screen you can get in 2022 despite despite being a 3 year old device. But they went back to notches. All brands did, even Xiaomi (Poco) and Asus (ZenFone).
  4. I could see a "Get a Mac for gaming" having its place here.
  5. In some Android update, I don't know which, they added one extra step of sliding down to see the brightness bar. Do you guys know of some way to access it with a single swipe, instead of the current two, like it used to be?
  6. Something else that is true is that you get rid of all ads permanently 30 seconds after getting the phone, by installing NovaLauncher. I get the bloat criticism, but honestly, ads are just a non-issue here.
  7. Heh, tough to beat the Poco F3, as long as you don't mind Chinese brands as the other guy mentioned above.
  8. I enjoy seeing different points of view and arguments, and so I'm looking forward to see what you guys have to say. So, what are your picks, and why?
  9. This was my next question as an uninformed fool actually: what sets Xiaomi apart from Huawei in this whole story?
  10. Huawei keep pumping out phones and they look like real competition to the flagships we can actually buy. Why can't politics be as simple as: "Biden does not like Trump, therefore he'll undo what Trump did"? My childish, black and white worldview would solve a lot of world problems. And create countless new ones, but that's besides the point.
  11. If you want go Apple, go Apple. But don't pick the SE. It's just a complete and utter piece of garbage. My company has given them to all employees. When it was announced, everybody cheered. Free iPhones, right? Now they're all complaining 24/7 about the trash tier battery life.
  12. Interesting takes, thanks for the feedback. @Motifator - if you had to buy a OnePlus, would you pick the 10 Pro now or wait a few months for the OnePlus 11 to launch?
  13. Hello! In my country, I can get both these phones brand new for the same price. I'd like to know you enlightened opinions on this matter.
  14. Isn't it worse specs? It features a Mediatek chip. Heh, I can of notice, even for mere Chrome browsing.
  15. Currently in France, I can purchase a brand new Poco F3 for 270€. That's a Snapdragon 870, an OLED screen, and a 4500 mAh battery. For 270€. There are "midrange" phones from other brands with very lame Snapdragon 7xx series chips at like 400€+. What even comes close, honestly? Unless you really want the best camera to shoot at night or whatever, what's the alternative?
  16. I know. My question is a bit more tricky. Let's pick a fictional phone. It has 2 iterations: same design, same battery, same specs, same everything except the screen. One is a 60hz screen, the other is a 120hz screen locked at 60hz. Does the 2nd phone lose battery faster? Does the very nature of the screen draw more power even if the 120hz is disabled?
  17. Hi. I'm wondering: if my phone is able to reach 120hz, but I set it to 60 - will the superior nature of the screen still draw a bit more power than if it were a cheap 60hz screen instead? Or does the software move of locking it at 60hz really nullify any extra battery consumption? Thanks for your answers.
  18. Hi. Poco F2 Pro owner here. Recently, my phone got an update, with brand new emojis and all that. Too bad I can't use them, because when I press the emoji button while texting, the emoji tab opens but there's no emoji on display and the screen starts freezing and becoming unresponsive for a few seconds. Then I can close the app, come back, the same issue will occur so I just give up on emojis for now. Another issue is with the camera app. When I open it, it's just a black screen. And I know black screens matter, but I kind of wish I could take picture with my phone again. Same issue as before: the screen freezes for a short while, and then I can close the app. This has been a pretty big annoyance and I'm sure it's software related since I never had to deal with any of this prior to the update. Help me please!
  19. I get a black screen, and the regular-sized video playing on some small rectangle at the bottom of the screen, with a good chunk of it being cut entirely. It's weird; Turning off full screen and turning it back on again usually fixes the issue, but I'd rather know what's causing the issue so I can solve it. Phone model: Poco F2 Pro. Using NovaLauncher, if that can help somehow.
  20. Hello. A very stupid question on this tech-savvy temple, I apologize. I do wonder though. If I create a new user session for, say, my wife of my children - will I notice a performance drop in my own session? In my head it's like a whole new world of things that the computer has to "remember" and work on in the background somehow. Maybe it's not though, I don't know. That's why I'm asking. Thanks in advance for making me less stupid.
  21. How long did they last? 2 years at most? It's annoying because it was the best implementation. It allowed for a no-notch display, it gave you a sense of security since you couldn't be spied on while taking a dump, and the only concern there was with them (they'll break! moving parts!) is pretty much gone now that they've been out for so long and nobody has reported any issue with that. Poco F2 Pro owner here and I'm in no hurry of "upgrading" to an ugly hole punch or an under-display creepy camera. I wish they sticked with that design.
  22. Amazing editing and narration, lots of various footage in a world where most content creators just switch between shots of their faces and shots of the object they're reviewing...All in all, you feel like a lot of love and work was put into making the video. And yet, he's still so far behind the big boys like Linus and MKBHD. It makes me sad. This guy deserves way more subscribers.
  23. I only play competitive games. Mordhau, WoW (in 3v3 arena) and StarCraft II, mostly. I think I'll notice the difference most in the former.
  24. And from cheap VA to IPS? That'll be my next upgrade. I've seen a lot of praise of these kind of displays, and I'd like to know if it's really as great as people make it to be, as I've never experience anything above 60hz 1080p.
