im not sure. I think i clicked some auto overclock setting in the bios (when i was overclocking my ram) because i didnt think much of it but i really dont remember.

    Fan vs Heatsink

Recently, i've noticed my cpu cooler isnt doing good enough for whatever reason. And I started to wonder: is it the heatsink or the fan? which one should i replace? or should i just get an AIO pump? or a new cooler altogether? Cooler: Thermalright Assassin X120 Refined SE cpu: 5700x
  4. nevermind i have no idea what that was. i somehow enabled docp, i will try to delete this post if i find out how.
  5. I know this probably sounds weird, but i’ve been apparently using my ram at 2400mhz, when it was labeled 3200mhz. i’m assuming this is just the base, non overclocked version. cool, so i go to check how high i can put it… the package said 3200mhz, but… it goes higher in the options??? i have genuinely no idea which one i should choose. what happens if i choose a higher one?
  6. yea that’s the b550 layout, i looked everywhere but no rgb header. oh well.
  7. ok i get the rest but where do you see the rgb header am i going crazy
  8. so i bought a case on amazon for my new build… it came with a fan hub. i plugged in a sata, into the hub, and it works fine. however, there are two other wires: a pwm wire and an rgb wire. i don’t have an rgb header on my motherboard even though they said i did, and i don’t know if i should have both the pwm cable and the sata cable plugged in. motherboard: A520m - PRO (msi)
  9. so id be fine if it just doesn’t boot, i would just have to get an older cpu? nothing damaged right?
  10. yes i did check the website, it says it’s compatible but also depending on the bios ver, which is why i just want to test this
  11. what would happen if i put a cpu in my new motherboard that i’m not sure has the correct bios? the motherboard does not have flashback or anything, so i just want to check if it works before i return the cpu, but i’m not sure if trying will damage my components.
  12. yes it has windows 10 but my os is windows 11 right now. it also booted in legacy before, not uefi like the SSD, idk if that changes anything
  13. So I have a single SSD in my computer right now, it has windows and all of my normal files and some games. If I added and plugged in my old hard drive, would it just show up like a usb drive does (but as like D: drive) , or would it reformat/erase the data? or what would happen? I dont know if it changes anything that the hard drive had windows on it already previously, or that its really old, but it still works on my old pc.
  14. recently, i had downloaded windows onto my new computer which i had built; and to download it i had installed windows from a usb drive. anyways, i’m too scared i’d screw something up to plug it in again because i’m not sure if it would make me redownload windows and lose everything. i wanted to build a new pc for my gf, and was wondering if the windows media creation tool stayed on the usb or if the usb had already been wiped, leaving me to download it again so i can download it onto her pc.
