PC HEROES got a reaction from filpo in Does a PCIe 3.0 CPU Limit Other Things???
No, I was just using this as an example question. I would never pair a CPU that is Locked w/ PCIe 3.0 and use PCIe 4.0 Parts. Seems sad that just because the CPU is limited that the other should be too, like they somehow could not have found a way around this.

Also anyone else seeing this might get some knowledge out of it.

Hello... I have the "Perfect" Build for you. I have included the Best CPU for Gaming the Ryzen 7 7800X3D and the New AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE 16GB GPU. This will allow you to Play any Game you want in any Resolution you want. I also added 64GB of RAM because you said that you needed extra. I threw in some extra Fans too and a Fan Hub because the Case only had 2 and now you will get the Max Benefit from the Case. Just add the 3x120mm Fans on the Bottom of the Case and the 2x140mm on the Top of the Case. I added some Keyboards for you to look at too. Please have a look and let me know what you think.

Hi, I thought this might be an interesting challenge. I picked a case that has a handle on it and is quite small and will fit into any standard luggage bag, not only that but it can totally game at the frames you want without all the RGB. The motherboard will probably have some but I'm sure you can turn it off with the RGB software that you can download.

Hello... I made you a Build List and this PC will pretty much be the best you can get for your Budget. Inside will be a Ryzen 7 5700X3D and a RX 7800 XT 16GB GPU. It also has 32GB of RAM and the whole PC has no RGB, this is what I call a "Blackout" PC. 2TB M.2 Storage and a Fan Pack. The Case only comes with 1 Fan so I added 3 more for you to put in the Front of the Case, they Daisy-Chain together so it only takes up 1 Fan Port on the Motherboard.

PC HEROES got a reaction from Linuswasright in Hey my name is Seeker and I'm back again on the forum for Linus Tech tips! I've made an updated pc list looking for suggestions
Hello... I read through your entire Specs List and I have to say that you are leaving TONS of Performance off the Table. First off you won't need that much RAM unless you will be doing any kind of Hardcore Content Creation. 32GB will be more than enough and if it's not then you just add more later on. Second Your choice of PC Case is a really Terrible idea. It has almost no Airflow. I fix this buy switching it to the Fractal Design Meshify 2 RGB Case. It is capable of holding up to 14 SSD or other 2.5" - 3.5" Drives and provides more than enough Airflow and comes with 4 ARGB Fans. You had said that you wanted the RX 7600 for the GPU but why limit yourself to only a 8GB VRAM GPU when the 7600XT is now out and it had 16GB of VRAM? The rest of the PC you can just Upgrade as you see fit later on if you want a better CPU, GPU, more RAM, or Storage. I added a 2TB M.2 Drive and 2 4TB WD Black HDDs to get you started. The CPU Cooler that I picked can handle any CPU you want from the Ryzen 5 7600 to the Ryzen 9 7950X3D. I don't know why anyone would want HDDs in a Gaming PC these days as they are so Terrible for Gaming. Learn the Hard way I guess...

With all that said I would go with this Build. If you have any questions please let me know.

I was thinking more in terms of permanently reserving 8 GB as OP was asking. On a 32 GB system you might be fine with that, 24 GB is still plenty for a lot of tasks. But if you go with 16, permanently losing half your available RAM isn't a great idea.

For a system dedicated to gaming like a Steam Deck that might be fine, but if you do other tasks that may be memory intensive you'd probably end up adjusting the limit constantly.

Unless space is at an absolute premium like in a handheld, I'd generally avoid the headache and get a discrete card.

Be careful with the Ryzen 5 3600. As a Full Time Custom PC Builder and watching others on YouTube like Greg Salazar the R5 3600 CPUs have been dropping dead for no reason what so ever for a little over a year now. Personally I have has 15 of them die in the last 6 months.

Also be sure that your Motherboard can handle a 5800X3D. There is a big difference between a cheap B550 like ASRock B550M-HDV and MSI B550 GAMING GEN3 as apposed to a Mid Range like Gigabyte B550 AORUS ELITE AX or MSI MAG B550 TOMAHAWK.

If you need a ITX Motherboard then I would go with the Gigabyte X570 I AORUS PRO, if not the I would get this MSI MEG X570 UNIFY.

Yeah... Looking at that CiT Case it uses Molex Fans. Dumb design if you ask me, why not just make everything SATA or at least get the power from the Motherboard like most 3 Pin 5V Fans? Also that Case has terrible Airflow, it only allows Air Intake from the Sides of the Panel. I don't know why Cases like that even exist! I wouldn't even use that in an extreme budget build where every "PENNY" counts, LoL.

I have fixed my List to include the RX 6800 XT. Even though I don't think there was anything wrong with the ENDORFY Regnum 400 PC Case, I changed that too. It is now the ADATA XPG DEFENDER PRO which has 3 ARGB Fans and a Full Mesh Front & Top Panels. I don't know why you didn't like the ENDORFY but I do think the ADATA Case is better, I just didn't see it my first time looking. I also changed the RAM & PSU to ADATA XPG as well to match some of the Parts together, I'm a big fan of matching Brands in a PC Build, you get far less problems that way.

Hello... Everything here looks good except the M.2 Drive. That ADATA Model is very slow for a Gen4 Drive so please get this one instead. The ADATA LEGEND 800 is a Gen4 Drive but it only runs at Gen3 Speeds, look below for the difference.

PC HEROES got a reaction from QuantumSingularity in Help my friend upgrade her prebuild PC!
Hello... It looks like you might want a all White PC for your friend. I did just that and I made a Full Build List as well. There were some things that really needed to be changed like the RAM because it was WAY too SLOW and the M.2 Drive was only Gen3 and also really SLOW. The Parts that I picked are really great Quality and very Fast. I would not reuse anything from the old PC as everything is outdated. Please have a look at my List and let me know what you think, I can answer any questions you might have.

Hello... This one actually took me a long while to think about and configure. It was tough but I did it. One thing I had to do was get you another Case. The one SG13 you have is really bad on Airflow and only has room for 1 Fan. In other words it would have really "Toasted" you whole PC. I am also aware that you said that you have little to no room on your Desk so I got a Vertical Style Case. It actually takes up less space than the SG13 while sitting on the Desk. Kinda like the new XBOX Series X how it stands really tall and has almost Zero Width.

Please let me know what you think and if you have any questions.
