    Go to https://store.cablemod.com/configurator/
Select Custom PSU Cables  or PSU Cables  (start with custom, then try psu cables if 1st fails). Hit Next.
Select your psu brand , then select model . Ignore the case question. Hit next/Continue
    Select modmesh , white

Select the cable you want, click on the + button to add

Select your color then click on each cable to colorize it with that color (you can make multi color cables) :

hit next, add combs if you want or other crap.

yeah, made jpg screenshots ... fuck it can't be bothered.

I guess cablemod will already be hard at work to get the 12-pin cables on sale.

Back to your question: Afaik several partner models of the cards use normal 6+2 type connectors.

If you can "waste" $1400+ on a 3080, you should be able to "waste" another $20-30 on an extra cable from cablemod. You can buy cables separately, not just as a whole kit.

    Quit your whining.

The (excellent) fan spins slowly if there is no load.  I never hear the (excellent) fan even under load.  From the Seasonic website:
S2FC - Smart and Silent Fan Control
The intelligent thermal circuit feature is designed to find the optimal balance between the necessity to cool the components and the need to run the power supply in the most silent manner possible.

The fan runs in the silent mode up to 50% load.  And the fan also has a fluid dynamic bearing.

I think seon123 must be thinking about the Seasonic CORE GM-650 which does have a crappy fan.

Now if only PSU manufacturers would stop making PCI-E wires with OBNOXIOUS EXTRA CONNECTORS THAT HANG OFF THE SIDE OF THE GPU LIKE A HORRID TUMOR, COMPLETELY RUINING THE LOOK OF MY BUILD.

I had a very similar problem with my brand new rmx850. Had to return it sadly. It would crash 15 mins into stress tests no matter what I did

Pretty sure that is a 10+ year old PSU, maybe wait for others input as well. But if it is indeed that old I would definitely pass.

They only make good PSUs if you ignore the bad ones and the ones that had flaws.

Like the S12ii was still sold up untill very recently, and it wasnt a good PSU. The consistently pair their PSUs with mediocre fans regardless of how expencive they are.

Every PSU company has their bad apples and their good ones. In this case, the better protection coverage of the Straight power 11 makes it a better pick, not to mention the better noise performance.
This is the older focus fx and not the focus gx. Avoid the fx in favor of other options.

A 650w unit would be plenty, and would mean that you dont really need to aim for multirail units for their extra level of protections.

IC4 got a reaction from Meczox_ in Had possible weird PSU issue, can't tell if I should worry...
Very interesting, the only thing I could think of is you rattled up your hdd (which probably would have broke it but if it works then that’s probably not the issue) or windows 10 in all it’s glory is just messing with you, it’s happened to me with my WiFi lol.  But this doesn’t sound like a psu issue, sounds like windows 10 or your motherboard is having some issue.  My money would be windows 10 though.

IC4 reacted to TVwazhere in Please suggest me a case (with 360mm radiator support)
    False.
Put the Size radiator you want into a "build", make sure "compatibility filter" is checked, and PCPartPicker will automatically remove any cases that cannot support that size radiator.
When searching for a case, there's an option for solid side panels only

Phanteks P600S has a solid side panel option, comes a removable front plate for best in class airflow and comes with the extra 2 HDD drives the P500A does not (as mentioned by @Mateyyy) The Meshify S2 is also a good option, as well as the slightly older but still good Enthoo Pro

It does also look like the manual for my actual board is a little less ambiguous, whereas the one above for the Maximus VI says "Do not forget to connect the 4-pin/8-pin EATX12 V power plug" which makes it seems like both are necessary, the manual for the Strix B550-E simply says "Ensure to connect the 8-pin power plug, or connect both the 8-pin and 4-pin power plugs."

Look at that, it was me who the idiot all along!

That said....still curious to know if my re-pin/diy adapter would work in a pinch.

IC4 got a reaction from Haro in Any 500W+ PSU Compatible With My PC?
Saying “anything works” is very misleading and wrong. Yes you are correct about the form factor but just throwing in any psu especially at the 60 dollar price point is not a good recommendation. @consentwastaken like @Statik the Corsair cx series is very nice for a build like yours or I’d recommend looking into Corsair txm, a coolermaster mwe gold, or a seasonic focus gx. Can’t go wrong with any of those.
