I recently picked up a SA510 WD 500GB for a startup drive and I thought it was doing well untill it started absolutely crapping itself. Now the drive is unusable as it takes 10 minutes to boot up windows and even during the install of windows it proved to be extremely show. I’m not sure if this is because it is DRAMless? but wow, I knew Linus warned about DRAMless drives but I never knew it was this bad.

Ask yourself why you need a new computer and is it worth the expense?

I’m using my phone right now because it’s so unusable. I recently got super busy and didn’t use my desktop for a month or two. I come back and I’m at constant 100% utilization with no explaination and nothing open??? It takes 5 minutes to even start up windows and another 5 to type my name in. I just want to use my computer again. This is genuinely upsetting I can’t even trouble shoot.

Yeah... Asian parents, immigrated here. I wish there was another solution but well, we'll end up just doing nothing about it for 3 years and finally getting my life back after that. I made a rule, after 18, never look back.

I have already considered all these points and they're pretty valid and I think of them when this type of stuff happens, but with all the stuff I've done/do already with so much stress. But I do get that I need to spend a lot less time gaming and I already have cut it down from 5 hours a day as a kid to 2-3 hours or even 1 hour every two days. But thank you for the different perspectives

Let me give more story. I've asked them to do some talks with me. Reasonable. The max I've spent on the computer would be 2-3 hours a day. I do Varsity Track, best in the state for my age. I also play an instrument really well, I'm in the district band. I workout 2-3 hours a day. Homework 2-3 hours a day (all A's now) and my Social Life is very alive. My girlfriend hates my parents rn cause of this but she understands cause shit happens. My future isn't going anywhere and I knowingly limit myself while also setting up my future. And I'm glad I got discipline from my parents, I'm thankful. But now I couldn't care if I got my ass beat because it's nothing different because I did fighting, fighting across the country against different kids (Taekwondo 2nd degree black belt). And I spend 80% of my time outside with friends, I go on dates, everything is normal. But this freaks them the fuck out for some reason.

So to preface this, I'm slightly biased so if you correct me I could be entirely wrong here. I've been gaming for so long, but I've always been yelled at for doing it. Every single year I age it's always, "you're already (age) it's time to grow up now and this won't get you anywhere." I understand that. I limit myself and I do have limits to the amount I game. Sometimes I have to finish something or I won't be able to sleep for the night. Like for example, I'll end it, but I won't be able to sleep, so I get on for 15 minutes and they end up walking in my room thinking I've been on for 5 hours straight calling me a loser, taking away my internet, saying this will get me nowhere and then calling out my friends for being bad people for letting me stay up (they had no knowledge of me staying up to get in trouble). I'm not sure how this bodes with people. So this same situation happened, I needed to finish something quick and my parents heard me. I didn't think it was a huge deal, but to them it was the worst thing ever. They ended up trashing my setup and tossing my keyboard at me and then they forcefully unplugged my rigs and then threw them in their rooms. To make this worse, they took away my phone (I can't sleep without listening to some form of music and I've been now struggling to sleep because of it) and forced me to stay up all night because "that's what I wanted to do anyways". All i wanted to do was finish a small thing for 15 minutes and get off right after (actually I was just about to get off) and this fiasco happened. They keep saying I'm a liar and I don't even have good grades (a single 89.95% out of all A's) and I'm not gonna get to any college and I'll be going to the local community college with all the hobos and dying early unhappy. They say they're making my future better and it doesn't matter about the moment. I don't know what's happening, they keep asking why I do nothing right now and they took away my passion right now (One of my rigs was dedicated to learning Linux and eventually making my own Distro). Now I'm completely Isolated with no one (my laptop im writing this on has 0 capability for discord calling or just any gaming at all). Any thoughts?

It's currently 1:42 AM in the f***ing morning and my desktop turns on from hibernation mode. It does this so many times and I'm not sure what it is.
