  1. So I been having some issues with Windows on my pc, and I have decided a fresh reinstall is the best option. I have 3 physical drives on my pc, and the one Windows is currently on has 2 partitions. If I were to reinstall windows on that partition, is the rest of the drive safe?
  2. So this started the other day when I was having issues sometimes with the windows search bar, it would randomly not work. I thought nothing of it and didn't really pay attention. Then one day I turn on my pc, my home screen looks different and windows is saying it can't log into my account and I need to sign out. If I signed out and back in the pop up would refuse to go away. After some troubleshooting for awhile, the problem was not going away, and windows just felt like it was acting weird. Like a number of solutions I would try to do through the command prompt to verify files or stuff like that would give me an error. I rebooted in safe mode, and was still having similar problems. Then, after a restart, I was unable to login into my user with my pin, giving me the error "Something happened and your PIN isn't available. Click to set up Pin again." I tried solving it in the other user that is on the computer, but my solutions there all required access to my other user, the administrator, which I couldn't log into due to the pin. Eventually, I found this solution on reddit and managed to get into my admistrative user. By the way. this whole time, whenever I boot into windows it is like stuck in safe mode, when I log in it's in safe mode and nothing I do seems to change that. And it keeps saying im not signed into my windows account. Now, the real issue comes here. At this point I am debating weather to wipe the windows drive and do a fresh install, as I can't figure out how to fix this sign in issue. I do something on my laptop that needs my mouse and keyboard, and I unplug them. I come back to try and fix the issue and plug my mouse and keyboard back in, and they dont work. I restart my pc, and now I'm stuck on the login screen unable to input anything. I can go into the BIOS and i've try solutions from there, like turning on USB legacy support, but nothing works. So here's my 2 questions 1. How do I get my keyboard and mouse working again? 2. I have 3 physical drives on my pc, with the one that windows is installed on having 2 partitons. If I were to do a fresh usb install on this partiton, would the other partition on that is on the same physical ssd be safe? Thanks to anyone who takes the time to read this. I appreciate the help in advance.
  3. I have already done loads of troubleshooting on my own through previous forum posts, windows tech support, and YouTube. Reinstalling windows seems like the best option. If you think you may have any other ideas I’m happy to outline the problems I’ve been having.
  4. So because of blue screen issues, I’m in the process of reinstalling windows and have decided to back up my 2 drives. While the option I am using to reinstall windows shouldn’t delete any data, I bought a 2tb external hard drive just to be safe. I was planning on backing up my 1tb hdd and 128gb ssd. As I think about it though, I have a couple questions: 1. If l’m reinstalling windows (and windows is on my ssd) do I even need to have my hard drive in when reinstalling? 2. If that’s true, do I need to do anything special before I takeout the hdd? Thanks so much for reading if anyone sees this!
  5. Just making a post to here so people see this topic again, still unsure of what to do...
  6. Yeah that is not possible. So would you recommend exporting the files in some way to be safe?
  7. So I’m trying to reinstall windows. Using a windows boot USB, there is an option to keep files, settings, and apps (as shown in the video). I didn’t plan to export my data to another drive. Does that make sense?
  8. So I have been having lots of blue screens in the past day, and I think a fresh install of window is the best option. I’m going to follow this video to make sure my files and everything is saved. Now I’m worried that if my pc blue screens during the update, something bad could happen. Is that even possible if I’m in safe mode? And is this method the best way?
  9. When you say restart, is it blue screening? Or just turning on and off with no error?
  10. iCUE appears to have recently added support for ASUS products on their end, and I had been using it the other way around. I'll your suggestion.
  11. So would there be a way to let them download stuff they in a separate place without being admin? No drivers just like files and software.
  12. Sounds like CCleaner may be the best option then! Thanks for the suggestion!
  13. So for awhile now I've my ram has been Corsair Vengance RGB Pro, and I use iCUE's compatibly with ASUS Aura Sync (as I have a ASUS motherboard) to control it. The thing is pretty much every time I open iCUE and Aura when I turn on my PC, the ram gives me a little error triangle in software with no explanation. When this happens, neither iCUE or Aura Sync can address it, and the only solution I've found is a force update of the ram's firmware. This fixes it until I turn off my PC, and then it happens again. Now I have also discovered that when I got Rainbow Six Siege about a month ago, when I have my PC's RGB all fine and the software's closed, booting up R6 screws up my ram RGB color and gives me the error in iCUE again. Any ideas or fixes are greatly appreciated!
  14. So I want to let my parents be able to use my pc when I go off to college, as I'm not taking it and it seems like a waste to just have it sit around. It seems pretty easy to setup multiple users, but I'm a bit confused on the admin permissions and how to keep thing separate between accounts. Also, will drivers have to be updated through the admin user?
  15. So I recently started to run out of space on both my C and D drives, and in the process of deleting unused programs, I noticed a lot of files that seemed like junk (temp files, program installers, etc.) taking up a good amount of space. I was wondering what your best tips to deal with junk in on your pc, or any free software you would recommend. I can't find any good ones as they all seem to have mixed reviews especially in terms of background usage.
  16. So as someone who hates membrane and laptop keyboards would you you not recommend the g915? I saw the LTT review and he said it was nearly the same as a mechical keyboard as far as feel.
  17. Not a bad choice. My bad though, I forgot to mention I would like RGB.
  18. So I'm currently shopping for a new mechanical keyboard. My current keyboard keyboard is a Redragon K578 (Cherry MX Brown Equivalent) and considering I paid $60 for it I've been very impressed, but I want something a little nicer with some more features. I am looking for a keyboard with Cherry MX Brown or equivalent switches, and TKL design. Ideally is also wireless. My mouse and headset are also Logitech and I like them both, so I'm interested in maybe a Logitech keyboard. I currently am looking at 2 main option, but I'm looking for suggestions/thoughts on these or other boards I may like. The Logitech G915 TKL and the Logitech PRO X. For the G915, I love that it is wireless and dedicated macro keys, as well as a volume wheel. Wireless is a big plus. The downside for me is I'm a bit hesitant of the low profile design. For the G PRO X, I would buy this keyboard in a heartbeat if it were wireless. Lack of macros and wheel I can deal with, but I'd really like wireless. Any thoughts on these boards or recommendations of others? Thanks.
  19. Wow really nice find! Almost perfect dimensions, and seems like a solid product! Thanks so much!
  20. I did see that hyperx one as well, and it would fit, but I was hoping for something much longer then it is deep, like 48" by 18". Kind of a weird size.
  21. So I'm looking for a new and bigger mouse/desk pad, but my desk is kind of a weird size. I was really interested in the length of the Glorious 3XL mousepad, but 24" is too deep for my desk. I need something more like 48" by 18". Any suggestions or ideas?
  22. Here is my build, running 64 bit Windows 10 So back in March I upgraded to a kit of Corsair Vengance RGB Pro Memory, and while I got some blue screens like once a week with various errors, I thought all was ok. Fast forward to this week and I had been getting way more blue screens, but I was to lazy to research. I was also noticing games like Fortnite and Minecraft would randomly crash, but they seemed like documented issues so I thought all was ok. Untill last night when my PC started blue screening after like 10 mins everytime I turned it on, giving me errors such as: CRTICAL_PROCESS_DIED IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION I thought all fingers pointed to the Ram being the issue, so I ran Windows Memory Diagnostic and it said there was an hardware issue, and to contact the manufactuer. So I have contacted Corsair, and I made sure it wasn't one faulty stick by testing them individually. Here's were I am confused. As a temporary measure, I tried to use my old 2x4gb kit of Patriot memory untill the Corsair issue was fixed. Problem is, I'm now getting the same errors and crashes I was getting. Are both kits corrupted? Is something else wrong? I don't know what could be the issue as it should be the memory with these errors. Any tips and suggestions are greatly appreciated, thanks for your time if you read all this.
  23. So after I recently got my Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro Ram, I realized that I could control my Ram RGB through ASUS Aura Sync. I followed these steps, and the Ram shows up in Aura. But when I apply any settings, it only applies to the fans and GPU, never the ram. I have checked and iCUE isn't running in the background, any ideas?
