  1. Hi there! I've had my system for a few months now and anytime i hit the power button it shut down like normal, after changing the setting in 'choose what to do when the power button is turned off' I recently upgraded to 32gb of corsair rgb pro ram, and after that, my PC will not shutdown when i hit the power button. I checked the setting - and it still says 'shut down'. The only thing i might've done that would differ from a normal installation of this RAM is i had to manually clock it to 3600 mhz in bios because auto was setting it to 3200. **I don't even know why RAM would cause this issue, or if it just coincidentally 'broke' on windows end when i upgraded** Any trouble shooting steps would be greatly appreciated, thank you and have a great day. p.s. - when i click the power button the PC turns off everything other than the RAM, and when i press the power button again it comes up with everything i previously had open.
  2. $400 would be amazing. the other hundred or so would be so easy to come up with compared to that.
  3. Would something like this work? https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Phantom775/saved/#view=n6Z3ZL
  4. The purposes for the new case is 1) The PC frequently overheats even with room temperature being at 60F. there is no dust obstructing the vents. 2) There is little to no room to upgrade anything in the future. 3) as mentioned, there's little to no room and it frequently overheats. everything is crammed into this case with very very minimal room inbetween components.
  5. Honestly probably not a horrible idea, but i have no clue what this PC from years ago would be worth. In that case, i would try to change to Ryzen rather than intel.
  6. i just want to take my CPU and GPU out of my X51, leave the other parts behind, and make a whole new system using the 2 parts i want to transfer over to save money. Case, mobo, PSU, SSD, RAM will be new parts. (atleast that's the end plan)
  7. fixed the images weird file format
  8. i'm trying to take my CPU and GPU out of my Alienware x51 and put it into a new system.
  9. The case, however, is 100% being replaced no questions asked.
  10. that's another reason i thought i should get a new mobo. the PSU is a brick. not even in the PC.
  11. I was told by someone the Alienware mobo was unable to be put into normal cases. https://gyazo.com/b04a47f4a32d2479794469ec45f08135
  12. would any of these work with the mobo i have selected?
  13. Hi there! I'm new to this whole upgrading thing, and have pretty limited funds as i'm only 16 and unemployed. I just wanted some opinions on a parts list i have (https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Phantom775/saved/8WCnLk) The CPU is an Intel Core I7 3770, and a Nvidia Geforce GTX 660 for the GPU, since i already own these in my not so desireable Alienware X51. The Case and PSU were purchased this morning, but i'm sure with any changes that are made these are the most 'flexible' parts of them all. Thank you in advance for any input, and have a good day.
  14. okay, thanks for your help, 'H&M' lol, have a good day.
