  1. I recently read a article about the US stopping intel exporting 80,000 Intel Xeon chips to upgrade the chinese Tianhe supercomputer due to the fact that they belive it could be used for nuclier reaserch. I not sure how much of this fall under tech of politics, but i know for sure that chinese are not going to be happy. The picture below is the Tianhe-2 supercomputer and in its current state it manages 33.86 petaflop/s. I think it is in the interests of us national security, but at the same time this is a massive deal for intel and it denying it a massive income! Intel has also recently signed a deal worth $200 million with the US government to build a new supercomputer for one of the country's national laboratories so it could be seen as intel selling technically 'weapons' to both sides. The Tianhe-2 is currently one of the biggest supercomputers in the world and this is before the upgrade! What do you think? 2. Good point, i was just trying to exclude imax grade cameras etc.
  3. it is 6k not 8k, i don't know any consumer grade cameras that can shoot 8k!
  4. I have recently followed MKBHD post about editing the cookies to try out the new experimental YT player, and it looks really nice! I have been trying out watching it in 4k on my 1080p monitor, which i know is pointless but it was interesting! This morning though i loaded up a video and it appeared to be in 8k, now i'm sure this is the wrong thread but i thought i should post it anyway. Of course the video i was watching was actually a mere 4k video but i found it quite interesting that, even though it was a bug, there was the graphic in place for 8k. So i took a screenshot of the tool: So i have no idea if they are implementing the feature anytime soon i was just quite surprised by the graphic placeholder being there! If you want to check out the article about changing perimental player you can find it here: http://googlesystem.blogspot.co.uk/2015/04/youtube-tests-new-video-player-for.html
