  1. Went for a optical hybrid hdmi for now that enables all hdmi 2.0 features at 20m plus. Getting 4k @60hz with HDR (18Gb link)
  2. Thanks for the re-assurance. Ill report back once i have some results.
  3. Lovely, thank you. I lacked that piece of sarcasm. I am not aware of any HDMI cables that car get 4k HDR signal at 100Hz any further than 2-3 meters. I need it to go at least 8 meters.
  4. Hey guys, so, what would be the best way to get a high quality, high refresh rate HDR signal from my computer (running 2080Ti) to my 4k OLED TV with minimal input lag? My googleing skills are failing me here, i dont see a good widely adopted solution here. Help!
  5. Thanks guys for pitching in here. Any factual or experimental data to back up your suggestions? I don't mind buying a new one, I could pull the 750W unit from my Alienware GA and use that as well etc. I just lack the understanding of what are the risks here. Anyone with PSU servicing experience around here?
  6. Ended up going for ASUS PG349Q , it seems that the lg-34gk950g-b does not support G-Sync with HDR
  7. Just about to order the parts for my new build. So, i posted some old stuff that was lying around for sale and i found a Chieftec Nitro 2 85+ 1200W PSU from my old Antec 1200 case. Its roughly 6 years old, was in use for the first 2 and just stood there for the next 4. Thought id take it to the nearest repair shop and let them run some load and output voltage tests, if it passes ill just throw it in there. Should be enough to run my new 9900k and a 2080 Ti combo... Or maybe I shouldn't risk it?
  8. Still, 10% difference in some cases from manual memory tweaks
  9. Let me frame in another way, what's the closest I can get to PG35VQ without paying 3k for it?
  10. You have region specific monitor advice? I'm in EU.
  11. Kind of torn between a 100-120Hz ultrawide (34-35" at 3440x1440) and 144Hz 1440p monitors. Ideally, I would want an IPS panel with true 10 bit HDR and G-Sync at 120Hz or more. There's a bunch of options from Asus, LG, and AOC for all of these requirements. And no I will not pay 3k ish for an Asus ROG Swift PG35VQ. Please share your opinion on this as well as hands-on experience with these features (100 vs 144hz, HDR or no HDR, IPS vs a good TN/VA etc) Note: leaning towards lg-34gk950g-b
  12. Can't help but notice that most of the respondents here are rocking Intel setups. Should i take this as an insight in its own?
  13. Compiling my new gaming rig, and with the new Ryzen 3 series CPU launch, I (we) finally have a reason to consider AMD in the gaming space as well. So why this post? Reading the reviews of the new AMD CPU s I'm noticing some disturbing trends. Namely: The task switching between chiplets seems to be causing issues in games Bottom 1% frame rates seem to suffer with AMD CPU s which points and performance inconsistencies There are multiple determining factors in getting the most from a Ryzen 3 CPU (right memory, expensive mobo etc) Single-core performance is still worse than Intel This computer will be used for gaming and light workloads (running web apps). So the multi-core workload benefits that AMD provides won't be that relevant. So as much as I would like to give my money to the (no longer) the underdog of the consumer CPU space, for my current build the "good old" intel seems to be better. Thoughts?
