  1. Just got the news that Nvidia will no longer be selling their new rtx 3000 founders edition graphics cards through their online store. They announced that Best Buy USA will be selling their cards in the States but no word on Canada or Europe. Gotta say as a Canadian I'm not happy with this decision. The Nvidia store at least shipped to Canada, but I'm not sure if Best Buy here up north will get anything. How exactly are consumers outside the US supposed to find a founders edition card when they do become available? We already pay way too much here because of weak dollar, not to mention shipping and taxes, so I really hate the thought of overpaying on ebay. If anyone here works at best buy I would be interested in hearing any news about whether or not these founders edition cards will be sold at retailers in Canada. I assume just because the US stores will have them doesn't exactly mean we will be so lucky.
  2. Well thank you for your advice, this should definitely help.
  3. You just blew my mind! I had no idea you can customize a keyboard to this extent, I think you may have just made my decision harder lol. I have no idea what the difference is between half of these switches, looks like a may have to buy one of those key switch testers.
  4. Hello everyone, just trying to get a few opinions on which of these two keyboards I should get. I loved the feeling of typing on my brothers razer ornata keyboard, I don't mind the noise and love the 'click' so I'm hoping the huntsman is similar but I have not had the opportunity to use it. I have also read some good things about the steelseries apex pro, and like how it comes with a usb pass through unlike the huntsman. Thing is I'm not sure if the whole omnipoint feature is something i would actually use or if it is just a gimmick. I'm also unsure if it'll have the same satisfactory feeling that I got from typing on the razer ornata. Either choice would be a massive upgrade considering right now all I have is a flat hp keyboard that I will not miss at all. Any advice would be much appreciated!
  5. i appreciate all the help from everyone in this topic, really liking the community!
  6. Thank you so much for taking the time to respond! I'll give the videos a watch.
  7. Unfortunately the pc isn't finished yet because I haven't received my case. I also haven't bought the water blocks for the gpu and cpu because I may have to sell my intel cpu and motherboard depending on if something better is released in the next 3 months. I also haven't purchased a monitor yet but I plan on getting something that can run 4k at 144hz (or 120 I guess). I was going to buy the Asus rog pg27uq but decided to hold out and see if the Alienware oled 4k 144hz monitor will be any good when it comes out.
  8. I don't know about you but where I live a second hand 1080ti is way too overpriced, might as well get a rtx 2080 super brand new. I'm no expert though, maybe you won't need one that powerful.
  9. I am 100% open to learning. I would like for someone with the proper tools and know how to show me how to do it though, considering if I mess it up it's going to cost me.
  10. 4k gaming/movies at highest frame rate possible. I would like to wait till a newer, better installment of GPUs is released but I don't want to wait another year. I'm well aware I don't have to spend this much money, but I wanted to go all out and don't mind the spending so long as the wife doesn't find out the real cost.
  11. This is gonna sound stupid but I went all out. Ordered a singularity computers spectre case (still have to wait for that to come in), the rest of the parts are as follows: -z390 aorus xtreme -intel i9 9900k -rtx 2080ti FE - 4x16 3200 g-skill trident royal RAM -Corsair 1000ax PSU -3TB samsung m.2 -1TB t-force ssd i ordered a couple 120mm radiators as well as some fans. The pump and reservoir come with the case I ordered. Still waiting for that 55 inch OLED 4k 144hz monitor to come out so I haven't got that yet. Might switch out the board and intel cpu if they announce something later this year (if it's worth it) I don't plan on finishing this till sometime around Christmas depending on what or when certain parts are released.
  12. I recently ordered a customized Singularity Computers Spectre 2.0 case. Downside is the ridiculous cost but if budget isn't a factor it looks perfect for custom water cooling builds. If you're looking for something more affordable but still excellent I'd stick with the 0-11 dynamic, although depending on your build it may a little small so you could just wait for the slightly larger XL version that's supposed to be released soon.
  13. Hey guys, so I'm new to the forum and I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but I'll give it a shot and hopefully not piss anyone off. I am building a brand new PC for the first time in a decade, unfortunately though I have never had the opportunity to build anything with water cooling and I definitely want to give it a shot. My main concern is that my parts are very expensive and I have zero experience in this area aside from watching a few YouTube tutorials, so if I mess up it could cost me a lot of money to replace what I wreck. Is there any business in the southern Ontario area (preferably in the tri cities) that you guys and gals would recommend I take my computer in to have the water cooling components installed? I would even be willing to pay for someone to do it with me step by step, like a tutorial, so that next time I could build it all on my own.
  14. My buddy let me test out his Valhalla 2 tube amp, I do like the way it sounds but because I'm so new to this I have no other referance point that I can compare to. I'll look into the FiiO K3 and some of the ones you recommended rice guru, thank you guys for taking the time to respond! On a side note, is there a big difference between a regular dac and a multibit dac? I've seen plenty of people just call it snakeoil and a marketing gimmick while others have said its worth the extra cost. Ideas?
