  1. Not at the moment. To get the drive out I have to take the heat sync off, and I don't have any thermal paste atm. I don't believe that the issue however. When I tried to boot windows from a flash drive I got the same problem.
  2. I have a system that I can't seem to figure out. It seems to keep posting, then turning off, and on, and off, and on. I'll see the HP logo appear for a second or so, then a "VGA No Signal", then the HP logo. This loops indefinitely. From my understanding this started after a recent windows update. I've tried a hard drive component test, as well as a memory through the HP diagnostics. Currently wrapping up a full system extensive test. Will update when I get the results. I have reseated the RAM, changed monitors/ cables, and tried launching windows from different drive. The issue persists. The screen stays up while in BIOs/Diagnostics. Any idea of what the issue could be? Tech support so far has been about as helpful as ever. Update: As expected the system extensive test came back without issue. Says everything passed.
  3. I ended up having to find some slightly older drivers and run those. It works fine now. Ig it must have been a bug with the new ones
  4. I installed some slightly older drivers and everything works fine now. Thanks for the help.
  5. Do you know exactly how I'd go about installing older AMD drivers?
  6. Sorry, whats what I meant when I said I uninstalled the drivers. I'm not entirely sure how to install older drivers, but that may help since I first noticed the problem after I updated them. Specs are Ryzen 5 2500U 8 cores at 2.0 GHz (I know thats low but its a prebuilt laptop mainly for school, so I don't want to mess with overclocking atm) w/ Vega 8 and 16gbs (ddr3 or 4, can't remember off the top of my head)
  7. Like I said in my post, I tried that. The problem was still there. You'd think that'd be an end all solution, but for whatever reason it still didn't work...
  8. It happens with any game I try. Doesn't matter if it's through steam of some other launcher either. I've tried fullscreen, fullscreen windowed, and windowed. The problems there with all three.
  9. When I lower the resolution of my games, it shrinks the game to not take up the entirety of my screen. I've tried every scaling option under the sun. I've made sure all my drivers were up to date. I did a full uninstall and reinstall of all my drivers. Nothing works. My system can't run certain games well unless I drop the resolution, so I've been stuck playing lower end titles for weeks now cause I can't seem to fix this bug. Any solutions?
  10. Well.. Disregard that last comment. Changing resolutions worked a second ago, but now when I tried it, the window shrunk again. Im going to restore the point i made before I reinstalled my drivers and try again tomorrow
  11. I just did a DDU and after installing a few windows updates, my amd drivers, and some audio drivers off the Hp website, I think everythings working. Any drivers i've forgotten? This is the first time ive done this.
  12. Ight I just did a DDU and am in the process of reinstalling my drivers. wish me luck, cause if this doesn't fix it, then I don't know what would
  13. I'd rather not unless absolutely necessary. I figured something stupid like this would have an easier fix
  14. Nope, its in all games, even if they aren't through steam.
