Unplugged absolutely everything, deleted the device and rebooted, it came back again. Maybe the ghost of keyboards past is haunting my computer.
-
I installed the ethernet driver from Gigabyte's site. Chipset and audio drivers were already the latest version since I only put this new mainboard in and fresh installed about two weeks ago. I didn't install the RAID driver since I don't intend to use it. Other drivers weren't offered. After a reboot the mysterious keyboard is still there. Could it maybe be a fake keyboard in one of my Razer things? Usually those show up as USB tho...

My device manager lists a Standard PS/2 Keyboard with an error, but I neither have one nor even a PS/2 port on my mainboard. I tried simply uninstalling the keyboard in device manager but after a reboot it just appears again. I wanted to just ignore it but this morning I got a bluescreen and when I googled the code it apparently was driver related and the only error listed in device manager is this one so I guess this phantom keyboard was the issue. The code was kmode exception not handled and it hasn't appeared again after I disabled fast startup but I'm still worried.

rgb Dont have an 3 pin rgb header for RGB GPU brackets
ShinyAkko replied to johnSPA12's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
You could buy an rgb controller that takes 3pin argb, Asus and Razer both make them. Buy which ever one you prefer the software of, but it seems like the Asus one is way pricier. Or you could just get a new board but that option kinda sucks. -

Really love the asthetic, but I can't spend more on my monitor than I did on my build. Wish they'd make an entry level 1080p 75hz version, but I doubt that's ever gonna happen.

As far as I've seen fanless units are 120€+ and therefore outside my budget. But if that's not the case I'd be very interested in one.
-
My current powersupply, a Thermaltake Berlin, has now been doing its job for many years and it's fan recently sometimes becomes very loud. And even when it is running properly at normal noise it's still the loudest part in my system so I'd like to replace it. I am running an i5 4570 and a Vega 56, what would be the best PSU I should get? I do game quite a bit, but I also just browse with Chrome and watch videos which actually happens more often than gaming. Overall the machine is running almost all day, but I shut it down at night so no lights can keep me up. The computer is sitting on my desk right in front of my face, so I really care about the noise. I'm not too concerned if the new PSU is modular or not, but it would be appreciated if it was. I'd say my budget is up to maybe 75€ but I'd like to stay under 50 if possible. Oh, and I'm in Germany, if that makes a price difference to other regions.

https://www.razer.com/gaming-mice/razer-basilisk They also have the Basilisk Essential with a non-rgb mousewheel.
-
I personally use the Basilisk, I really love the thumbrest and that I can adjust the mouse wheel resistance.

Until I'm able to install my new Noctua I'm using a CM GeminII M5 with a Noctua fan and that's what will go in my wife's computer soon, I can only recommend this or a similar setup, the normal fan on the GeminII is doing it's job very well but a little bit noisy.

The Best-Looking CPU Cooler! - Noctua Chromax Black

It arrived. Now I gotta wait for the mainboard I bought on ebay, then I can put it all together. Byebye silver, grey and green. -
The Best-Looking CPU Cooler! - Noctua Chromax Black

Any ideas on if the orange corner covers will be available individually? They'd compliment my Gigabyte GPU nicely if I could put them on my already existing case fans. -
I'd recommend the FiiO K3 since it uses USB-C which makes it more futureproof and it has a reasonable price.

Hmm, looks like a decent option, I'll consider it. Thanks.
