  1. Hello, I'm currently using a Razer Naga Epic wireless mouse I bought about 5 years ago and have decided to finally replace it with something newer. I love my Naga but the battery is absolute junk. It lasts half a day with the lights off if I'm lucky and has never fully charged using its charging dock. Because of this I've been using it as a wired mouse for nearly as long as I've had it. I'm considering the following: 1. Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed 2. Logitech G604 I was wondering which of the two would be the better buy and if there's something else on the market I should look at instead. My biggest priority is battery life (I'd like to go atleast a week between charges) and don't really care if it has lights or not. I would however like something with a thumb rest and a pinky rest as well if possible as that's something I've gotten quite used to with the Naga. I don't mind a bit of heft so weight is a nonissue.
  2. Okay then just go with the adapter itself and the small heatsinks if you want. They cost around $15-$20 USD so even if it dies in a year or two you can probably buy a new one without it hurting the wallet too much.
  3. I meant if you could remove a few drive bays out of the cage and jerry-rig a small fan like a 40mm (you'd need to measure the area first to make sure it fits). If I remember correctly Noctua makes a 40mm fan which probably isn't too loud. Double sided tape it to the cooling vents and let it blow onto the adapter?
  4. That might work, Also, does your case have ventilation for the drive bays? If that's the case maybe you could set up a small fan there and keep the adapter in a hard drive slot. I don't know how loud such a fan would be though so that would be something for further digging.
  5. Btw I searched for over a year before settling on that off brand adapter because I couldn't find any other option. Unless a pcie solution was released in the last couple months I don't think there are any other replacements. Also, as far as I understand all these adapters would throttle from the heat caused by the load they have to carry. They would probably have to make an actively cooled model to prevent that but I doubt that's happening.
  6. Yeah if you shop around on ebay you can probably find one for between $15-$20 USD. At that price I'd say its probably worth at least trying.
  7. If you just want the port to work the off brand lian li ones do a solid job. I have a Cosmos C700P case and a asrock killer mobo which also doesn't have a front usb-c header. I can't speak about speed because mine is further adapted to usb 2 since i didnt have any spare usb 3 headers but so far its worked fine. Mine is also next to a fan grill so its getting constant air flow though so I can't speak for how reliable it'll be for you.
