This is probably one of the biggest let-downs of getting older, realizing how much practical information I was never taught in school.

Couldn't do my own taxes, and didn't know anything about the legal system, but I sure learned that mitochondria is the powerhouse of a cell...

If he would be working as one-man project (Jay, Kyle Paul etc.), then that would be true. But he has company. A company doesn't need to be created for pure profits. In world of idealists, companies aren't made for money-making, but to better share their work to markets. The fact that they are making profit now, and that Linus seems to be geared more towards profit lately also contributes.

If you create products (in this case tech videos) and not only carve out a niche, but also grow a one man show into a 30+ person company, that is the very picture of entrepreneurship.

So I'm watching this Linus livestream and it's clear that he's been having some issues with stress and overwork and depression and a crisis of meaning in the face of bigger issues of life and death and worth.

It's up to us to brainstorm ways to cheer him up.

Linus needs a break, he and his wife clearly want more time to live life outside work, that can be done easily.  The staff has grown and can accommodate more people picking up the slack. Linus needs to try shrooms. Repeat bullet point 2, with a guide. On the talk of consumerism and a sense of... frivolity to Linus entire work, I'm reminded of the words of the great Jean Baptiste Emmanual ZORG !!!!!!!!
... okay, maybe that was a bad example, but the point still stands, consumerism is an engine of modern civilization.  And until we are post scarcity, it will probably be with us. Linus mentioned not wanting to buy newer cars over a sense of waste.  But we live in a world of abundance.  At least on time scales we ought to care about.  In the long run, we are all dead, that is true, the universe will eventually endure a heat death, and long before that the oceans of earth will boil away within a billion years as the sun expands.  If our species has not found a way to expand out by then, it will be over.

But we essentially live in a universe of plentiful bounty.  We have free energy, flowing in from the sun to the earth, and that energy allows us to do work and transform this world into a paradise.  We are learning more all the time.  From cleaning up ocean plastic

to nuclear reactors that can use current waste as fuel.

@Linus staff, you must, feed him shrooms.  Find a way.

dude is hitting that midlife crisis. I'm right there with him. This shit 8-5 job is turning me into a zombie just so i can afford my lifestyle, which is spending 80% of it at work, preparing for work, and missing out my life and kids and family. I have another 17 years of this to look forward to. At least Linus can make a lot of money and actually contemplate retiring at some point in the near future.

I'm a slave to my mortgage for the next 20 years, and no real way out of it.

I'd reccomend making one. It ties your key to your account, and makes any potential problems much easier to fix.

Flying Sausages reacted to RadiatingLight in Ryzen 3900x RAM issue
Do you have 4 sticks of RAM you want to use?

If yes: Technically, your CPU isn't GUARANTEED to run at 3600Mhz, but it should be able to do so. Investigate RMA maybe.

If no: Don't worry about it. the IMC is designed to run slots 2 and 4 first, then 1 and 3, so having only 1 and 3 might throw it off.

Rather than wordpad, microsoft might as well put ads on their full feature microsoft office software to let user use it for free with caveat between 10-15% horizontal space being used for the ads and the user must be online

There are crap tons of user using cracked microsoft office, microsoft could make decent revenue from there

Testers have found and enabled code in Windows 10 Insider build 19546 that shows Microsoft is potentially going to add ads for wordpad. Currently, these test ads are only for Microsoft Office.

Big oof. Looks like Microsoft is really after ads within the OS compared to just selling new copies of Windows. It's definitely starting to feel like enough is enough.

Oh this is an easy thing. You're not paying attention to the warning. It believes you are using the iGPU, which means you are using the iGPU. This is more typical of a laptop and a displaylink docking station, but I recognize this problem as simply being "Windows is using the wrong GPU"

Here's what you do. Make sure your Primary monitor is running off the nVidia card. This should tell Adobe that your primary card is what you want to use for video acceleration inside the application. The Video renderer that you're selecting in premiere is for actual video processing. The nVidia Driver has nothing to do with this.

As for why it's happening, it's likely probing the PCIe devices, and if you have "mixed multi-monitor" enabled in the BIOS, that means the iGPU is still enabled. With that said, if the warning is coming up, and you know you've plugged your monitor into the nVidia GPU, regardless if you turned off the iGPU the problem lies with Premiere and you might be able to use the task manager to force it to use the nVidia GPU, but otherwise, just ignore the message, because it's likely mistakenly believes that you're using a laptop where both devices have to work together.

Click the "export report" on that and see if it's still using the nVidia GPU anyway. The experience I'm speaking from is from other software that mistakenly uses the iGPU when the nVidia GPU is present.
