Water block for the GPU because it looks dumb having just the CPU cooled with rigid tubing.

It may look like a $20 stand but the internals of the hinge are pretty complex. $150-$200 seems reasonable assuming their using the same metals and not plastic parts.

The Intel NUC is exactly what I need. Looks like they start kitted around $270. If price to performance against a used system is good then I will shell out the cash for one.

I just thought there might have been couple year old model of school computer that could be bought on the cheap and work for 4k content. Space is of no concern and I can fit a mid tower or larger anywhere. I just don't know enough about the hardware to make a good buy on something used like that.

Thanks for the replies guys. I wasn't aware of the NUC before.

Tech4Dogs got a reaction from The Blue Cryptid in Is res above 1080p and 60Hz really that much better?
I went from gaming on a 4k panel pinned at 60 hz to a 1080p at 144hz. It made a big difference for me in terms of eye strain along with the other benefits of playing at a faster frame rate. I never thought I'd like anything else than 4k but now I'm fully content with 1080p at 144hz.  Someday if I have money to burn I would consider a 1440p- 140hz panel.

So yes I would say it is considerable better.

I should have a multimeter but I don't. I'll be going to the store today to pick one up.  Hopefully if everything goes as planned I should have this media controller functioning tonight or tomorrow. I bought multiples of the speaker I'm soldering in case I were to make a mistake.

I'm really happy that I can use the larger switches. It should be much more durable now.

Thanks so much for the help guys!
