  1. I got the processor name correct. It's definitely a weird one. I connected the Dell monitor via DVI, it is recognised at all times, BIOS and Windows. The same cable was used. So it would seem there's an incompatibility between these monitors and the motherboard over DVI. Strange.
  2. I have an i5, think it's 4690k. It can't be a case of the hardware unable to support it, because it worked, displaying an extension of the desktop during the driver installation. I think I may have tried the DVI on its own and there was no image at boot. I'm not 100% sure though. I will have another check when I get back home.
  3. Hi, I'm trying to set up a 3 monitor arrangement on my workstation. Primary monitor that the system has always run with is Dell S2409W, 1920x1080 via HDMI. I have two identical Iiyama ProLite E485S monitors which I wish to connect using the DVI and VGA connections, rather than having a second PC running. The monitors are good, operation via both VGA and HDMI has been verified on the machine they were working on (card with dual DVIs) and 2 other machines. I managed to get each of the monitors to work on this PC via VGA, but neither would work via DVI on this PC The VGA connected monitor is set to the right of the main monitor. Here's where it gets interesting.... I did update the Intel graphics driver, and during the update process the DVI connected monitor woke up and displayed an extension of the desktop, albeit to the right of the VGA monitor (no problem, I thought - I could set that up later) Upon restart at the end of the driver update, the DVI monitor reverted to standby. So, it seems I am missing a setting somewhere. If I go into either Windows display properties or the Intel driver software, there is no sign of the DVI monitor, it does not appear in the monitor list or when I click "Detect" or "Identify" I don't have dedicated graphics cards as I don't need high performance, these additional monitors will be solely used for displaying reference material, eg component data sheets. Someone please tell me what I'm overlooking! TIA, Simon.
