  1. I'm having trouble installing the NZXT USB 2.0 Header Expansion to my motherboard. I understand how to connect it to the motherboard, but not sure how to connect the 2-pin molex cable to the PSU. Can anybody help?
  2. My motherboard on my PC has all USB 2.0 headers filled, so I bought an NZXT USB Header Expansion so I can install my Corsair RGB Strips. I'm not very familiar with how molex cables work, but the USB expansion requires a 2-pin molex connection to power it. The instructions say it has to be connected to the PSU, but I don't see any female molex cables that directly connect to a SATA or peripheral port to my PSU sold to consumers. I'm not sure how to properly install this expansion hub, and I was wondering if anybody knew how. My motherboard is an MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Pro Carbon AC. The JUSB3 and JUSB4 are filled. Also a side question: anybody figured out what the 5-pin JT1 is for? NOTE: The JCORSAIR port for some reason does not work with my RGB strips. Not sure if my BIOS require an update or if the function is not longer available.
  3. Multiple times. I've been having this issue over the past couple of days with no improvements. I plugged in my Logitech Anywhere 2s for the first time 3 days ago and was able to download the drivers just fine, but I can't get the software working.
  4. So I've been trying to install Logitech Options especially for the past few days and my PC keeps on failing. I downloaded the installation file from the main website, but for some reason whenever I click the installation file, the program just decides to shut itself off before it even bothers to open the pop-up window to install the software. I've tried looking through the roaming data and found zero trace of Logitech, including Program Files and Documents. Does anybody know why I can't install this? The same goes for MatLab as whenever i try to install, it never reaches installation process as it shuts down as well. Thought these two were related somehow. Any way I can fix this? The software works on my laptop just fine, but not desktop. I'm running on Windows 10 64 bit.
  5. I've never overclocked my PC as of yet, but I plan to once I learn how to.
  6. I'm about to buy myself a Ryzen 3700x, and I'm looking for a cooler that works best with this CPU. I'm going to be mostly gaming and doing some CAD on the side. Looking for something quiet and maybe some RGB thrown in there. My budget is $180.
  7. The performance is very similar between those two cards, but I think you should get the RX 5700 rather than buying a used product. It's also a much newer card, meaning longer life-span.
  8. The most bang-for-the-buck here is the RX 5700XT for sure. I don't think it's worth paying a whole $100 more just to get very little performance gain. If you're not into that ray-tracing, there's no real point in going for the RTX 2070 Super. Besides, not many games to this day even take advantage of that feature anyways. Don't really see game devs working on it in the future either.
  9. The A2 post code means it cannot locate your storage to boot your OS. Try going into your bios and locate your drives.
  10. What's your budget? It really depends on how much money you are willing to blow.
  11. It's all really about personal preference at this point. Do you want that larger curved display or are you fine with working on an already decently-sized flat monitor? The 3 month warranty seems like an already good enough time frame to see if the monitor is functional and up to standard, although in the long-run it might not last as much as it is refurbished. I would personally go for the 27" Dell monitor. It's brand new first of all and it has a much longer warranty with a good enough display to last a couple of years down the road. If you are someone who also likes to buy products with good money to performance ratio, I would buy the Dell.
  12. Is this underneath the display or on top of it? Do you feel the texture of the marks when you rub your finger over it?
  13. So I'm not well-educated on the performance difference between motherboard models and such, so I'm gonna reach out to the community for this one. I'm considering buying the new Ryzen 3700x CPU, but I'm not entirely sure what would go best with it in terms of money and performance. I am looking for one priced lower than $250 if possible. Might be willing to put in more if reasons are sound. EDIT: I think I left this topic too broad and there will be too many questions asked, so I'll add the specs I plan to add below. Four sticks of 32 GB DDR4 3466 MHz RAM Samsung 970 256 GB M.2 EVGA GTX 1080ti FTW3 Enermax Saberay Case EVGA SuperNova 850 T2 80 Plus Titanium Also, I'm moving from an AMD Threadripper 1950x. Don't really need the additional cores for the kind of work I do on my PC. Is moving to a 3700x reasonable or should I simply keep my CPU as is?
  14. Yeah. I'm talking to him right now and he's mixing it up with his 7700k cpu apparently. Claims he sold his z300 mobo separately and doesn't have it with him.
  15. The buyer also agreed to come over to see if my components are functional, then he will help put his components into my PC so I know his parts also work. I just hope he doesn't kill me or anything.
  16. He says he's short on the money and doesn't have any cash to offer. I can probably sell the 1070 on ebay for a good amount and use that money to buy a better mobo and cooler for the 8700k. Yeah I was suspicious about this too. He claims that he's used it together before he upgraded to newer components.
  17. So I posted my Threadripper 1950x and X399 Aorus Gaming 7 motherboard on facebook market recently, and I got an offer from a buyer nearby. He offered me the following for the mentioned parts: i7 8700k CPU MSI z270 SLI Plus Mobo Coolermaster Masterliquid Lite 120 Gigabyte GTX 1070 Value-wise, it looks too good to be true especially with the graphics card just being dumped into it. I listed my parts online so I can buy a Ryzen 7 3700x since I don't do much multicore applications, but I believe an 8700k is doable. I have a 1080 ti, 32 gb ddr4 and a 850 W PSU. Should I do the trade or is this a no go?
  18. I would love to do a custom loop, but without any experience doing any intricate water-cooling I'm afraid I'll bust my motherboard with leakage. It's a shame that there are no easy water-cooling aio methods for people like me out in the pc part marketplace. I was also looking at the corsair H115i platinum that claim it fits a TR4 socket. Whats your input on that?
  19. I have been running into this issue as well. I have a 1080 ti with 32 gb of ram and I have some crazy frame drops when optifine enabled.
  20. I have a ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q and I would highly recommend it. It has 27" display, 2k res, and 165 hz refresh rate with great colors. With the rest of the money in your monitor budget, I would recommend getting a VEGA monitor stand on Amazon somewhere since the stand that comes out of the box I found a bit bulky. This one doesn't have RGB though, in case that matters at all. Keyboard-wise, what's important for you? Multimedia keys, clicky or silent, numpad, etc. There is a wide selection of keyboards so you might want to be more specific on the peripherals.
  21. Looks like the plastic mounts break very easily though. How did you manage?
  22. I currently have a Noctua air cooler for my TR 1950x, but I'm considering switching to a liquid cooler to remove the bulkiness. I have looked through some threads where people recommend the Enermax coolers, but so many reviews indicate that corrosion occurs often within the pumps. Not sure where to look, so can I get some input from anybody who is using a liquid cooler for the threadrippers?
  23. I have an AORUS motherboard and I noticed that a process called HCloud is always active. Is this some unnecessary bloatware from Gigabyte? Should I uninstall it? I'm not running into any issues but I would like to get some answers.
