I've been absolutely binging it lately, it's amazing. Probably the best shooter I've played, it's just all around solid with very few issues, and none of those seem major, though I haven't been playing that long 🤔. It still has a decent playerbase 4 years after launch, with no additional DLC since August 2017, and I believe full dev support dropped off soon after that. This YT vid from April 2018 is immortalized on the frontpage since there's been 0 updates since it was put there: 
 
Due to the super high mobility + very low TTK combo, there's both actual fun for noobs (you can accidentally go on a 3-7 kill streak if a team's positioning is even slightly off, because guns kill in 3-5 shots with insanely accurate hipfire + in attrition there's AI grunts to kill, and killing them still gets points for your team) + a massive skill gap (mastering the movement system and how to shoot while moving extremely fast without losing momentum). And said movement system is actually 2, movement is completely different from Pilot to Titan, and mastery of both provides very, very noticeable benefits. And each Titan plays very differently from every other so there's yet more overhead once you master one set of gear. Also has an extremely satisfying progression system that never pulls you out of the gameplay loop. 

Except that Titanfall 2 has one of, if not the best MTX system in existence. You see the (cosmetic) thing, you buy the cosmetic thing. And they're good cosmetics and fairly priced. Apex has a non-egregious system as well AFAIK, plus it's F2P. Fallen Order also has very little issue with MTX. Respawn has managed to convince EA to mooostly let them do their own thing, and it's worked out well.
 
So yeah a lot of the time they push that sorta garbage, but not always. Also many non-MTX related issues with recent titles were actually the studio's fault, not EA's. 

Same universe, so same/similar guns and kit and environments. 
Not really, they're a publishing house. Titanfall/Titanfall 2/Apex + Fallen Order are Respawn. Mass Effect and Anthem are Bioware, Battlefield/Battlefront are DICE. Other franchises are done by other studios too I believe, but I'm not familiar with those ones. The studios do the work, EA bankrolls the games, markets them, and sometimes tells the studios what to do. 
 

Apex looks decent. I need to boot it up and compare, but this is Titanfall 2. I haven't shared an Apex GIF yet but I doubt it's noticeably improved. Titanfall 2, especially on the texture front, is as crispy as any modern title.

Nope. Longest I've had is a 30 second - 1 minute or so wait, and that's only for less played modes. Attrition almost *always* has peeps in it, Frontier Defense is super popular too.

Indeed. I don't like battle royales and AFAIK there's no wall-running, so oofies. Loses the intensity of combat that makes Titanfall 2 great.

Yes it's an upgrade but in 2-3 months new GPUs should be out so unless you can't wait, I'd advise to not buy it right now.
