Ah, many thanks for the photo. I appreciate the informative visual. 👍

Hm. I could be mistaken, but that keycap looks like it has an integrated mount to me (the keycap stem extends beyond the bottom of the keycap, yes?). The unfortunate news is I'm not aware of any vendors that sell after-market keycaps for that kind of switch, let alone custom ones.

DIY is a feasible option if you have easy access to a 3D printer and plastic materials, or if you can commission someone else to do it for you. Blank keycaps would be easiest to print; not sure how well 3D printed keycaps with legends will turn out. But for the time, money, and/or headaches invested in a custom project, you might as well spend it on a keyboard with mechanical switches (market for MX-style keycaps is comparatively larger, and some vendors offer custom-designed legends). ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Alternatively, you could modify the 8 bonus keycaps that came along with your keyboard.

Meganter reacted to minibois in With the 3090 being a 3 slotted card, does that mean Air cooled CPU users will have to use an AIO so their 3090 will fit?
If your CPU cooler made it so a videocard didn't fit in the top slot, that won't change with the RTX 3090.
The RTX 3090 being a triple slot card, I assume it will just have extra height on the bottom, not the the top right?

The "manufacturer's spec" for my 9900K is 95W. The 9900K, in reality, is a 160W+ chip. PSU calculators just pull random numbers out of their arse and triple them for the heck of it, and will just happen to recommend you some 80+ Titanium 1000W unit for a mid-range system, because some guy paid them to showcase their power supplies.

AIDA64 AVX is not a benchmark, it's an unrealistic harsh stress test. Current draw during real-world workloads will be lower than what you see in that graph, and this also applies to other stress tests like Prime95, Linpack, etc.

The "biggest available PSU" could also be a trash can. There's plenty of 1000W+ out there that will blow up at an 800W load.

Wasn't "one of the ones recommending those severely underpowered PSU" running similar specs to what the OP was using with a 450/550W PSU themselves, while you were suggesting some 850W or whatever unit? I'm not 100% sure on which person I'm talking about though, since you went on rampages about needing kilowatts of power for mid-range systems in multiple threads recently.

Some memory and an SSD won't pull 97W. In fact, they won't pull even a quarter of that.
And this is why people always recommend steering clear of "PSU CaLcUlAtOrS".

ok so my brother needs some significant upgrades.

    his current build:
    i3 7100
    B250M-DS3H (iirc)
    8GB 2400mhz DDR4 (2x4gb)
    GTX 1050
    Corsair TX550M
    random ssd and hdd
    Thermaltake Vesa H13 case

he wants to play games like Rainbow Six Siege, Ghost Recon Wildlands, among others on all ultra at 1080p 60fps. this machine currently can't do that.
he also does some game development/programming on the side, as well as some video editing.

i was looking for parts to upgrade this machine and i want to go AMD for him, but i want this list to be looked over one more time because i'm familiar with AMD up to AM3+, i know nothing about AM4.

    new build:
    AMD Ryzen 3600
    included cooler
    MSI B450M PRO-VDH
MSI GTX 1660 Super Ventus XS OC
    Corsair Vengeance 16GB 3200mhz DDR4 (2x8gb)

    parts that will remain:
the ssd and hdd, both are still working fine i see no reason to replace those.
the Corsair TX550M, again still works fine and 550W should be enough for this right?
the case. i might put some front intake fans in it because currently it only has rear exhaust installed, is that a good idea?

Welcome J.A.R.V.I.S., J.A.R.V.I.S. welcome to the LTT forum. Named after JARVIS from... Yeah no explanation here (Just A Rather Very Intelligent System).

    #lttstore.com

    INITIAL PLANNING:

This is my work PC that moves around a ton, so the AI assistant name is fitting. Superseding my previous ITX Work PC in my Silverstone SG13, this system represents what I would consider my SFF ENDGAME, at least the case that is, the hardware is likely to be upgraded in the very near future.

This SFF ITX case arrived just the other day and the excitement was real. I have long long long been looking for my ENDGAME SFF case. For a while nothing satisfied my wishlist so the Silverstone SG13 was my answer as the non premium price point was an easy justification and it fit the hardware I had. It is close to a no compromise SFF ITX case, at 13L, however there is wasted space that could be used more efficiently, and it's not exactly the last word in premium build quality, although not bad. While I had considered a heavy mod to fit a 240mm AIO in my SG13, I decided I wanted a more premium enclosure so I left the idea a the drawing board.
Also, I just learned yesterday that this case has finally received a long overdue refresh, but the new SG14 is larger (19L), however much more compatible with hardware, and is a direct competitor with the new Cooler Master NR200.

Now, to be fair the market is not totally stagnant, over the past 3 years the premium SFF ITX case market has grown by leaps and bounds. But all options personally fell just short of my requirements, which were:
    - Case under 12L (realistically I wanted a sub 10L case though)
    - Fits a 120mm AIO (Corsair H60) at a minimum, ideally a spot for a second 120mm fan as well (240mm AIO/rad would be considered a bonus for custom loop potential)
    - Good airflow with a TG panel option (if I wanted to go that route)
    - Ultra premium build quality
    - Room for at least 1x 2.5" drive (I need storage)
    - SFX PSU (not FLEX ATX etc.)

A few cases met most of these requirements even when looking a few years back, but I personally did not like the Ncase M1, it felt to big (lol SFF case is to big). The Louqe Ghost S1 was so close to perfect, but the top hat required for liquid cooling killed the clean look in my opinion, and it was unnecessarily large, I would want something that just fits a 240mm rad with slim 15mm fans. I also considered the Streacom DA2, but this also was to large, and did not call to me.

    CASE SELECTION:

Thus, after finally settling on the SG13 almost 2 years ago I just stopped looking at the SFF case market almost entirely. However we are now in different times, COVID times, this meant more free time in my lair, stewing over more PC hardware to spend money on (my keyboard collection is getting out of hand and its only been 2 months lmao), so the SFF case hunt was back on!

If I knew how much time I actually spent on research I'd probably have a crisis, but lets not dwell on the past. After many hours I had a shortlist.
    5. Raijintek Ophion, this was ultimately out of stock everywhere and not premium enough, and with 'poor' airflow compared to other options. Size and hardware compatibly was perfect though.
    4. Nouvolo Steck, basically a Ghost S1, maybe slightly more optimized in some ways, but there might be a sacrifice on the ultra premium quality of the S1. TG option is nice, but the top hat design killed this option for me.
    3. Thorzone Mjolnir, this basically was ENDGAME material (the irony of the name is great), ultra premium, but the lack of stock (not even available for pre-order yet), and higher overall weight was the only downside.
    2. Sliger SM570, not as premium as my #1 choice, not quite as space optimized, but very close, and it ticked ALL my requirements. Had I not found my fist choice I would have bought this case.

    1. But the true winner was the FormD (Sidearm) T1, this case literally ticked every single box with no compromises at all (in my opinion). And watching this absolutely sealed the deal for me.

Now this all said, I had a small issue with the seemingly unavailable stock. However after another 2 weeks of scouring Reddit and other forums I learned that on every Friday at 10am they have an open order option with VERY limited stock. The site goes down prior to the order opening window, but at the crack of 10am get ready to order because these go FAST, my first two attempts were unsuccessful, but on August 7th I struck gold. I successfully ordered my T1, and two days ago it arrived in my mailbox! Much faster that I had anticipated so I am a happy camper!

    CONCLUSION:

This case is everything I expected, although cable management is a royal PAIN in the A$$ (as expected though), but I have custom cable sleeving arriving and I will be cutting cables to exact lengths. So, while it is a bit of a mess now this will change in the near future. For the time being I was lazy and everything coming off the PSU was just stuffed into the little extra space the case has to offer. The overall quality and design is just so well thought out, this is exactly the case I wanted all those years back. Hardware compatibility is very good (within reason of an SFF case), and most importantly the quality is truly premium. The Optimum Tech videos on this do a very good job of displaying the T1, I highly recommend watching.

Feel free to follow the build log as things change! In the coming months this system will likely go through some upgrades as well, getting my GTX 1080 from my Torrent build, and either my R7 3800x or R9 3900XT, as a hand-me-down from my other builds. This case is by far the most expensive I have bought, but it will be here for the long haul so I see it as an investment. Funny that it out prices some key hardware though.

    BUILDING:

    Photo dump, enjoy!

This case comes flat packed so full assembly is required, overall an easy experience and very rewarding! All parts are made of CNC aluminum, and quality is A++.

Assembled with panels on. I really like the clean looking silver panel.

Next to my old SG13, notice how the white plastic in the front has discolored over the years.

Panels off again and ready for hardware!

It is evident that a ton of planning went into this case, nothing was overlooked. This is one example, cutouts for the included PSU cable were made in either orientation.

Now, unfortunately I swapped the orientation as I wanted the two fans to exhaust air out of the top of the case and not the bottom, this means that the beautiful silver panel has to go on the bottom

Forgive me cable management gods! Custom cable sleeves are on order, I waited for the case to arrive in order to measure cable lengths.

Another example of the amazing case layout, the tolerances for this 2.5" drive mount are insane. And here I was planning to 2-way tape this to the back of the PSU, Linus style.

Fully assembled, 21oz water bottle and, screw driver for size reference. The T1 comes in at just 9.5L!

    PARTS:

    CPU -          R7 1700
GPU -         Asus RX 580 8GB OC Edition
Mobo -        Asus Strix ROG B450-I

Disclaimer: I bought the Cooler Master Master Mouse 710 back in May and promised you guys the Review of it so here it is.

Pictures from the day I got the Mouse:

Note: My setup looks different now and the reason I'm doing the full Review now is because I was waiting for my new Gaming Notebook to arrive to be able to play Triple A titles again to get the full perspective. So here you can check out the current setup.

There are two models of this Mouse that differ in one function: There's the MM710 which either comes in Matte/Glossy Black or Matte/Glossy White and then there's the MM711 which is the exact same Mouse but adds RGB and comes in Matte Black, Glossy Black, Matte White and Glossy White. The reason why I didn't go with the MM711 is because it is 7 grams heavier than the MM710 at 60 grams and the fact that I'm not a fan of RGB.

    Specs:

Full Name: Cooler Master Master Mouse 710

    Color: Matte Black

    Mouse Material: ABS Plastic

    Mouse Sensor: PixArt PMW3389

DPI: 7 Levels: 400, 800, 1200, 1600, 3200, 6400 and 16000 which you can switch between by default by pressing the DPI shutter button behind the scroll wheel

    Mouse Tracking speed: 400 ips

    Mouse lift off Distance: 2mm

    Mouse polling rate: 1000Hz

    Mouse Acceleration: 50g

Mouse Processor: 32 bit ARM Cortex M0+

    Mouse Memory: 512 KB

Mouse switch type and lifespan: Omron, 20 million

    Mouse Buttons: 6

Mouse Cable length: 1.80m and it is USB 2.0

    Dimensions: 116.6 x 62.6 x 38.3 mm

Mouse weight: 53g without the Cable

Special feature and I Quote from the Product Page:
So basically if you spill your Drink on the Mouse or have Ultra Sweaty plams than that won't be a Problem because the PCB is sprayed with a Dust and Water resistant coating that prevents it from shorting out because the Case of the Mouse has a open perforated Design that makes it Ultra light weight. I haven't personally tested it because the switches itself aren't sprayed with that coating and recklessly destroying Tech that I paid for isn't my thing.

Screenshots from the MasterPlus Control Center:

This is the main page. Here you can adjust your DPI, the polling rate and things like the Button Respond time. These are the settings I use the Mouse with both in game and on normal Desktop use.

Here you can assign each of the 6 Buttons to other Buttons or to Desktop Shortcuts.

Here you can configure and safe your Macro Profiles. I don't use any Macros on the Mouse since I do all of my Macro stuff via the Keyboard.

And then here you can save upto 5 Mouse Profiles which are all stored on the Mouse itself.

    My Thoughts:

When I used the Mouse for the first time I set the DPI shutter to 3200, after using it for a couple of hours on the Desktop I noticed that it was a bit too High for my liking so I experimented a bit and set it to 1600. Now that I have played a couple of games and fully tested it out and got used to the Mouse over the last 4 Months I found that 2100 DPI is perfect for me. I find the Scroll Wheel sound and feel on the Cooler Master MM710 really satisfying. The left and right Mouse button clicks feel and sound subtle, quickly executed and kinda stealthy actually compared to my Master 2S which it's click is really sharp and loud. The back and forward buttons are not bad but at least stable and don't move around when you wiggle your thumb around on them, but they're obviously not up to the standard on the Master 2S. The DPI Shutter Button on the other hand is kinda garbage, like you place your index finger on it and it moves around straight away which is not a Problem for me anymore since I've found the perfect DPI setting and won't be chaning it for now, also it dosen't actually tell you on Screen on which default DPI setting you're on when using the DPI shutter Button to change it. Overall I think it's a really great Gaming Mouse and definitely worth the Money, I paid 54.70 CHF. I wanted a light weight Gaming Mouse for a long time and overall Cooler Master fully delivered on my expectations and in some cases exceed them. Plus I get sweaty palms while Gaming so the perforated Design actually helps to cool my Right hand down a bit. The Mouse is intended for Right handed Gamers so this will probably be a pass for Lefties.

Psu: Got this from facebook marketplace. were happy about it. (was a tier B psu, now tier C  ) but still 750w psu and this system pulls around 300-325w power when 100% stressing the whole system.
Cables were decent looking not ketchup and mustard. Non modular which sucked since i did not even use 50% of the cables. I was happy about the cable management what i did thought. (only few cables hanging)

Cpu: ryzen 3 1300x. Was a decent deal (30€) did some overcloking. got 3.9ghz at 1.325V. Decent oc in my opinion. It is cooled by my 3700x' stock cooler (wraith prism rgb). When using silent cure i get around 70c on full 100% A'VX stress test. When using normal preset i get around 65c. when agressive around 58c.

SSD: Samsung 256gig sata 3 m.2 ssd form random prebuild. Not ideal for windows since it is dramless, but much better than the harddrive.

HDD: Well it is a normal HDD nothing special.

GPU: The seller was nice and changed the thermalpaste before shipping it to me. Overcloked it by +50 on core and +1000 on memory stable. Runs at 70c when cure is not agressive, runst at 65c when agressive.
    heaven benchamrk score: 1977
Mobo: Decent deal. nothing fancy but can run ryzen 3700x at stock. mayby even runs ryzen 4700 at stock (if it gets a beta bios for it)

Ram: again nothing facny. runs without any issues form memtest. Won't oc it isnce Zen's imc is pretty crap after all.

the case was a nice deal. 10€ for a case with class sidepanel. pretty nice. did come even with 1 fan at the rear. will not add fans the front sicne thermals arent an issue.
