  1. Kind of a twist on this topic but funny.

Helping my mom buy her first laptop. So we are in BestBuy looking at laptops when sales guy comes over to help.  Mom tells the sales guy she needs a new laptop as she is going to a Red hat convention.   Sales guy spends the next 5-10 minutes thinking that my mom works for Red hat (the software company) or that she is a hacker. Mom is oblivious to this and is talking about the Red hat as in old ladies in purple clothes. Then there is me trying not to laugh my ass off as neither one catches onto what the other is talking about.

While the Climate may change as it has through out history. We are causing issues for the climate. We are pumping green house gases in to the air. Jim Hansen has a great explanation on how  climate change works and how we are fucking things up.

What I am hearing there is that it's so hard to tell natural Climate change from so called manmade climate change that you just need to trust us. It's not like scientists have ever made any mistakes before. You know like scientifically proving bee's can't fly.

Also I am as big of a fan of the Muppets as any normal person but should we really be taking climate change advice from someone that must have done that much LSD?

I think he was.  But listen, you have to remember, they got one important fact wrong to throw people off.  It's not the Free Masons that control the The Cabal, it's the The Cabal that controls the Free Masons.

And the Lizard people control the Cabal?

    Yeah... Sure... A weapon...

That weapon is called "human stupidity"! And it directly gave birth to "Climate Change"!

We had a F2 tornado where I live, in NW Europe, two weeks ago, lots of people injured, lots of houses destroyed, hundreds of millions € to repair or rebuild!

It's the first real "big" tornado here ever heard of...

But alright! Climate Change is not a "thing"...

    A weapon... ?

Climate change is a thing. But is it a thing we have any control over.  We know that the planet has been both Hot af and Frozen like a ice cube at a time when mankind was living in a cave trying to invent fire by rubbing things together.

No no, you're thinking of the Cubans siding with the Illuminati.  They made the hurricane to force out their Cuban sleeper cells into the rest of the country, for the eventual communist takeover of America.

I have seen that documentary. Patrick Swayze was in it right?

I know Canadians are a close second to communists, but they aren't quite there.

No only French Canadians and the wannabe French are communists. They are planning to take over Canada with Poutine.

No no, it's the Lizard People behind global warming.  Duh.

All these organizations are controlled by the Free Masons, which in turn are controlled by the shadowy organization simply known as "The Cabal"

I think you are confused. But I am sure we can all agree that Justin Trudeau used Russian Hackers to start the fake hurricane to drive all the retired Canadians out of Florida and home to Canada to vote for him in the upcoming election.

I suppose something could be done if LTT goes to some trade shows like Computex or CES or whatever, and just meet in a mall or someplace (like reserve a small hotel conference room for a few hours in advance but if it's a tradehow or something in that town prices would be high due to demand)

CES would probably be fine. Takes a lot to fill Las Vegas. Even something that is not open to the public. Just a bunch of there YouTube and industry fiends as quests.

  8. 1 hour ago, kaiju_wars said:

No no.  You got it backwards.  Illuminati are to blame for hurricanes, the tornadoes are caused by Russian Hackers./

Everyone knows that the Illuminati are the ones behind global warming not hurricanes and the freemasons control tornadoes.

And because of these slower, weaker winds, this proves the earth is flat.  A round earth would have 140mph winds.  But you know what flat earth has?  That's right, nine letters.  You know what else has a nine in it?  2019.

    2019 - 9 is 2010.

You know what happened in 2010?  That's right.  The ROKS Cheonan sinking, which Hillary Clinton, then secretary of state for the US, announced that North Korea sank.

Hillary Clinton is in the illuminati.

What does the Illuminati have to do with Hillary Clinton and Hurricane Dorian?

That's easy.  There's 14 letters in Hillary Clinton.  There's 15 letters in Hurricane Dorian.

15 - 14 is 1.  There is one eye of the Illuminati.

There's two words in Hurricane Dorian.

2 minus 1 is 1.  Again, one eye in the Illuminati.
Therefore, Hurricane Dorian is Illuminati confirmed.

NO No that's all wrong. It was clearly Russian hackers.

    That's... an odd analogy.

I suppose someone might ask if they don't want to trip a breaker, but I imagine most people aren't running a blender and a Pizza oven from the same circuit.

It's marketing wank. They are trying to infer that there little battery operated blender is as powerful as a big wall power model. I think they are normally advertised as around 1500w

Watts are commonly used as a measure of a motors power.

Just standard FMJs, but my issue with it wasn't it being snappy or anything. My issue is the trigger, it's just as mediocre as every other glock, and in that small a package, the safety blade causes trigger finger blisters like nobody's business! All things you could totally fix with aftermarket parts like every glock, but I don't like to modify a gun I plan to carry.

Ok. I have no issues helping the Glock parts wear in with a little light stoning and some lapping compound.

I am not a lawyer, so take my word with a grain (or more) of salt, but my very limited understanding of Canadian law is that it's pretty much illegal for you to have more than 5 round magazines.  Unless you actually meant clip (as in, to load a fixed magazine), in which case I have no idea.  I did find a .22 speed loader in a quick search online, but I don't know if they ship to Canada or if it's even legal there.

I know that having clips larger than 5 rounds stored with your gun is illegal in Canada, but what if it it's not with a gun? Would it be illegal for me to have a clip that holds over 5 rounds if I don't even have a gun?

I go out to the range with my mom (coolest mom ever award goes to) quite often and she has a 5-shot clip since that's all we can legally have here in Canada, where can I find a clip online that'll hold more? Really hard to get into the zone with only 5 shots.

Already spoke to the range marshal, he's cool with it as long as it's not stored with the gun owner.  Regardless of legality, I'd like to have a banana clip but have 0 idea where to find one lol.

Just a .22 riffle for anyone wondering, could barely break a bone with it. I need to lob in shots further than 50 yards lol

Also not a lawyer but am Canadian.

Magazines in Canada are controlled themselves and under a couple different rules. I think Chronified you  might be getting hunting laws or gun club rules and firearm laws confused. Hunting laws will be different between provinces but I believe most are three rounds for shotguns and five rounds for semi automatic centerfire rifles. Some gun clubs have a load no more then five rule.

As for firearms law it is not the firearm that has a magazine capacity restriction but the magazine. So under Canadian law the magazines are controlled. We are also allowed to modify higher capacity magazines to only hold the legal capacity. But this must happen before it is brought into Canada. Magazines that are designed and manufactured for use in a handgun are limited to ten rounds. Magazines that are designed and manufactured for use in a semi automatic centerfire long gun(rifle or shotgun) are limited to five rounds and    Magazines that are designed and manufactured for use in a rimfire long gun or manual action long gun are not limited.  So this is where things get interesting.  There are all the pistol caliber carbines lately that use pistol magazines. They are legal at ten rounds if you are using a pistol magazine. If someone was to make a magazine specifically for the carbine then that magazine would be limited to five rounds. There have also been problems lately with some manufacturers branding there magazines as for two types of firearms. The S&W MP15-22 they make both a rifle and pistol. The rifle would normally have no limit and the pistol would be ten rounds. However as they make one magazine and sell it for both the rifle and pistol the government has taken the position that the more restrictive ten round limit applies.  They are also trying to do this to Ruger 10/22 magazines.

There are also exemptions to these rules. There are a list of exemptions like the M1 Garand is still allowed eight rounds.

So if you are looking for a magazine for a .22 rimfire rifle there is probably a legal magazine larger then five rounds. If you let us know what the rifle is we can probably help.

I wasn't a fan of the 43x myself, it's just not a nice gun to shoot imo. Have you tried a p365? It's double stack but around the same size as a 43x, and around the same width of a shield.

Interesting. Haven't got a chance to fire the G48 or G43X but they felt good.  What where you using standard or +p loads?

TFB TV Discord got mad at me.  My coworker was letting me try out his G19 for conceal carry.  He let me try out his Tier 1 holster, among the other holsters we sell.  I couldn't find a comfortable way to carry it, and no matter what I tried, it kept printing.

Like the G19 is just too big for me to conceal carry.  It's part of the reason I like to stick to actual compact and sub compact, single stack 9mms and 380s.  That's what I find I can conceal the best.  Cause you know, the whole point of conceal carry is to conceal the gun.

Anyways, I said, "I find it to big, let's be real, this recent trend of "compact" doublestack 9s really aren't compact.  They're midsized at best and more fullsized almost."

Try the Glock 48 basically a single stack G19.

As you say many of the compacts are not that compact. But you usually give up a good deal of shoot ability.

How about Linus and Anthony VS. Luke and Alex.

The first idea doesn't deviate too far from the usual formula but brings up a statement they've made in a few seasons: "on a budget it's always cheaper to buy used". I think it would interesting to put that to the test with a unique third competitor. For now let's call this extra competitor "Dennis". Dennis will build a budget PC using only new parts (opportunity for a helpful sponsor like MemoryExpress to be his guide in selecting components?). The new PC is presented in the first episode though the only firm detail will be the price tag.

The two regular competitors are then tasked with assembling a cheaper PC, the builder of the cheapest PC at the end of the competition will be the winner. The scoring system is simple, there is no score but the price tag. But each system will be benchmarked using Dennis's PC as a baseline. If their build falls below the baseline they must pay a penalty that is added to the price of their system. To win the competitors will need to guess how powerful Dennis's new PC is and then build something that is at least as powerful, making the season feel much more like building a truely useful PC and not an exercise in number crunching.

Good idea. Another take would be to get say Anthony to find a prebuilt and the only changes he can make are free. OC, updates, Clean up Windows or maybe even run it on linux

Here's an idea, lets say Linus stays in London and the other contestant (most likely Luke) goes to another major city in the UK. They would be both looking at deals in their respected areas and it would mean there would be no chance of them bumping into each other.

Do you think Manchester might work as the second city?

Couple ideas I have had are No name components.  Other then the CPU.  Maybe they could just get that from the LMG stash. Everything has to be no name like aliexppress or banggood parts. Couple problems I see are shipping. Probably have to give them like 6 months time.  Early videos would probably be more vlog like. give Linus and Luke a camera to shoot them finding and buying parts. Then have a  different editor cut together each's footage into there part of the biweekly? video. That way they can fake each other out and stuff.  The second is calculating the budget. Some parts are bound not to show up or not work. I think there needs to be the max system as built price. Then a total max you can spend. If not I could see Linus ordering way more then what makes it into the final system.

The second idea is Scrapyard wars even jankier addition. Give them the same budget PC or budget pc parts to start. Then they have a budget to mod it. The catch is they can't use any actual computer parts. So things like automotive and Christmas light RGB. Homedepot water cooling. Using USB fans as case fans. Then have them judged on looks, performance and uniqueness.

But really, Jimenez?  If all you had was $200, couldn't save up any more, you needed a gun and some ammo to defend yourself.  The C9 or CF380 were perfect.

If you only have $200 there is a long list of Walther PP/K and Makarov derivatives from East Europe that are better options. Hell I would carry a TT before one of them.

You could mount a red dot to a Hi point before haven't you seen this video.

  17. Microsoft had a chance but a number of things killed it. At this stage they would have to fight not just Apple but Google/Android/Chrome.  Most users would be fine with Android phone, tablet and a Chrome book.  I would say the only hopes of recovery would be Apple finally shooting themselves in the foot pushing there BS to far and things simultaneously blowing up over at Google with security and data harvesting.
