if you use the ryzen 7, you're going to have to get an external graphics card (Anything above a RTX 2060s or 5700XT) as it doesn't come with integrated graphics, and anything below that range will cause a bottleneck. Also if you plan to overclock, you'll need more headroom too. In that case, you would need a 80+ certified 750 watt power supply.
-
Other factors involved. What gpu do you have? Are you going to be using the integrated graphics? If you don't plan to upgrade, 450 watts should be enough. If you do, buy a psu with around 500-600 watts.

If you mean adding a hard drive as secondary storage, you can just put the hard drive into one of your drive trays and plug it in like a normal SATA ssd. If your SSD is m.2 and you don't know how to install a SATA drive, there are plenty of tutorials on youtube for how to install one, such as this one: As for wiping the HDD, you can do that by right clicking the hard drive in This PC and pressing "Format Disk". You can also do this in "Disk Partitioning", or through the terminal, however BE CAREFUL, I have accidentally wiped the wrong drive in the past.

*I THINK* My current Skylake rig died a few weeks ago. The reason I am unsure is because I believed it was my PSU at first, which I RMA'd however my PC still didn't boot after the new PSU was installed. I think it might be my motherboard, but I have no way of testing it atm. It's this model https://www.asus.com/ca-en/Motherboards/H110M-K-D3/ - There is no physical sign of damage on it either. What can I do?

memory Max memory for Intel D945GCNL mobo
Var_ replied to Vector0102's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Did some digging on the Intel forums. https://forums.intel.com/s/question/0D50P0000490BFKSA2/intel-d945gcnl?language=en_US People have been having the same issue, some can use 2gb while others can use up to 4gb. I think it might be dependent on the bios version or which copy of windows you use -
monitor Looking to buy a 144hz 1080p monitor on the cheap
Var_ replied to nickosu4423's topic in Displays
CAD or USD? I found a few on newegg.ca for around $250-$280 CAD (however out of stock) but best buy has a few of them. You can most likely find the same models for cheaper or on american retailers pretty easily. https://www.newegg.ca/p/N82E16824025942?Description=1080p monitor&cm_re=1080p_monitor-_-24-025-942-_-Product https://www.newegg.ca/dark-gray-benq-zowie-xl-series-xl2411p-24/p/N82E16824014482?Description=1080p monitor&cm_re=1080p_monitor-_-24-014-482-_-Product https://www.newegg.ca/p/N82E16824475047?Description=1080p monitor&cm_re=1080p_monitor-_-24-475-047-_-Product- 2 replies

I thought they were launched for high end gaming laptops first?

What zues said. It's basically a hub for all your ethernet cables that provides a safer and faster connection. (I have a habit of oversimplifying things)

I didn't know that EVGA rebranded their PSUs. It appears that my power supply is actually a Super Flower PSU. Interesting.
-
Are you focusing on 1080p gaming? Either a GTX 1050ti or GTX 1060 should work. If you plan to upgrade your cpu, you could get the RX 580. The i3-4130 seems like it would bottleneck anything above a 1060 or RX 580 EDIT: did a bit of research.

Howdy folks, About 3 weeks ago, my EVGA SuperNOVA G3 (550w) decided to off itself permanently. No fan spin, no power. I sent it to EVGA for an RMA, but still haven't gotten it back yet. I bought the PSU from Canada Computers about 5 months ago, and had no issues up to this. I heard that EVGA was good for their power supplies but I guess I might have bought a defective one? I'm kinda upset because my old power supply (a Thermaltake smart series) worked for over 4 years. Are these power supplies known for this kind of stuff?

Like Fasauceome said, Canada Computers is legitimate, but it does look like a pricing mistake. I found one on newegg for $185 CAD (without psu) https://www.newegg.ca/black-cooler-master-masterbox-lite-3-1-microatx-mini-tower/p/N82E16811119324 Call them if you're unsure.

It's a plain old 1080p 60 hertz monitor. Also, is it any good going for a GTX 1070 / GTX 1660?
