  1. Thanks for all the answers. Guess what I can conclude is that it will not work the way I want it to work. I might just do what @Tristerin mentioned and use it for Folding@Home. Thnaks guys!
  2. (if this isn't the right category please feel free to inform me). Hello LTT community. As most of you might've noticed, the rtx 3000 series recently released. So i wanted to treat myself and get a 3080. Right now I have a 2080 TI. So i was wondering if it's possible/useful to have both of them in my system. E.g. the 2080 TI as primary graphic card for all things windows and background tasks and the 3080 explicitly for games/high performance applications. Would that work? My current (important) pc specs are: - Motherboard: ASRock X570 Taichi - CPU: Ryzen 3900x - RAM: 32 GB Trident Z 3600 CL14 - PSU: will be upgraded to some kind of 1200W PSU. So i was wondering if anyone has experience/knowledge he/she could share with me. Thanks for the help!
  3. Because i am getting myself a Gen4 SSD too. That's why i need to decide between those 5 that i listed.
  4. So i need to decide between a few x570 motherboard. I am going to use it to OC a ryzen 9 3900x and my 32gb (2x16gb) trident z 3200mhz cl14 ram. So the list i need to decide between right now is the following (i'll add my current thoughts to it, feel free to correct me): ASUS ROG Strix X570-E Gaming: Great board with good connectivity. Has a slightly bigger vrm than most of the others (not really impactful that much though). Asus offers great software and the bios is nice too. ASRock X570 Taichi: Has really good features and is a solid board. The BIOS and the software that ASRock provides seems to be inferiour to other competitors. MSI MEG x570 ACE: Good board with a great bios and 3 M.2 slots. Software is decent, not as broad as asus and gigabyte. Gigabyte X570 AORUS MASTER: Very good vrm, 3 M.2 slots. Software and bios is good too. [POTENTIALLY] ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR VII HERO: This is only being considered because it's just a little bit more expensive than the aorus master. Not sure if it's really worth it but as for features it compares with some of the 700$ mobos. So please help me decide which one i should buy, i want to get a good motherboard with a good bios and software offer (should be enough for decent overclocking) that also has good performance (should not really be a lot of difference at this price class though).
  5. Hello Community, i am going to get myself the H500M as a case for my new computer and i wanted to ask here about recommendations for fan placements and which fans to use. I was thinking about switch the included rear fan with a Noctua and leave the two front. And i'd also put two on the top to get all the air out. I am going to use a NH-D15 as my cpu cooler. So my question is: Is this (especially the two included front fans) enough for a good airflow or should i change something (different fans, other size, more fans)? Thanks!
  6. I guess i might get the 3200Mhz version, the 3600Mhz is way too expensive for me personally. I'd just rather have benchmarks before to see any differences. I should be able to live without that i guess. Thunderbolt is not a priority for now so i can skip that. Thanks for the responses. So you're saying that the X570 boards are worth getting? Cause i was not sure if i should rather get a top class x470 board instead of a "mid class" x570 (since there are 750$ versions).
  7. Hello Everyone. I have a completely new build planned for the next months or so so i wanted to ask your opinion, especially about the motherboard choice. I am pretty much settled on the most important parts but i am really not sure if i should get myself a X570 motherboard. My current part list would be the following: -) CPU: Ryzen 9 3900X -) CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 -) GPU: 2080 TI, probably from ASUS not suer though. -) Memory: G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16 GB (2x8) DDR4-3000 -) Case: Cooler Master H500M -) Screen: Samsung C34F791 3440x1440 100Hz Monitor (and i'll possibly get a second monitor in half a year or so) Everything else is undecided, and i can also definitely change parts from that list. I want to cool it with air only and I also want to have an 1TB M.2 SSD. I am just not sure which motherboard to get. I am ready to invest up to 400$ for that if it brings me any significant advantages (the pcie 4.0 m.2 speeds alone for X570 are not enough for me). So i have the question as to which one to get and if it does make a different, especially with the 3900X. I plan to use the PC for video games (rather graphically demanding), programming and graphic design/video editing. Thanks!
