      i7 4790K (or non-K) is the best.

There are also some Xeons that can work (albeit with no built in video). I think the Xeon 1230 V3 is probably the best.

For both of these options you may need a BIOS update though..

Otherwise the other best options are the i7 4770(K) or any of the i5's on the LGA 1150 platform.

      Thanks a lot

But would you explain more about Bios update

The motherboard you have is an LGA 1150 platform board. They made two LGA 1150 series chips/boards.

They started with all the 80 boards (H87, Z87, etc.) And the Haswell chips (4770(k), 4670(k), etc.) And they later made 90 boards (H97, Z97, etc.) For the Devil's canyon chips (4790(k), 4460, etc.).

So the reason I mention a BIOS update, is because your board might be made before the new chips existed, this won't have the support for it, at least not before you update the bios. Updating the bios can only be done while having a compatible cpu installed, which is why I asked if there is already something running in the board.

If you want to know what series you CPU belongs to, just Google the part number and 'Ark' behind it. E.g. "i7 4790k ark". Ark is Intel's info site. It will have a section where it will mention product family like "products formerly known as Devil's canyon". That way you know what series it is.

If you want to know what bios version you need for what cpu, first go into your bios and check what version you have.

MSI board right? That's usually pressing DEL upon startup. Check the manufacturer's website, on the product page, go to support and then find CPU support. It should show a list of CPU's it works with, with the relevant (minimum) bios required.

I mention this, because if you don't have the correct bios, the machine will just do nothing.. but if you do, it will just support it.
