  1. Okay well your last point is just untrue sorry, no matter what game I play I usually see a 20% performance hit using nvenc to stream. For example, with all max settings on Rust, I go from 100-120fps off stream to 80-100 on stream.
  2. I have them on low specifically because its less distracting. Other high ranked players and streamers do this as well. In addition to that, there are specific things that happen (i.e. mei's blizzard which covers your screen in particle effects and would drop my fps significantly when i ran unlimited fps, down to below 144) Also I know they're fine for streaming, but I was thinking of a possibility that having a 16 thread CPU might provide a better x264 stream quality than nvenc could provide
  3. Hi all, I stream Overwatch (almost exclusively) and have never put a lot of thought into my obs settings but wanted opinions on them and if they could be any better optimized for my specs. -Specs: 10700k (with 280mm AIO so with AI overclock it basically sits at 5.1ghz 24/7) 32gb 2666mhz Strix 2080 Ti (voltage power temp limits maxed, +1000mhz memory OC, base GPU clocks because my card gets really unstable if i touch that) -Overwatch settings: Fullscreen 1440p144hz, Vsync on, reduce buffering on Low preset -OBS settings: 1080p60 (also thinking about switching to 720p120, thoughts? a few streamer friends of mine use this for overwatch) New NVENC, max quality 6k bitrate psycho visual tuning on
  4. as i’ve stated previously, any core offset even without a vram offset is unstable. in addition to that, last i checked vram oc would crash too. i’ve been on vacation out of the country so i haven’t had access to my desktop, just my laptop
  5. Make sure your monitor is set to 144hz in the Nvidia control panel and that GTA isn’t locked at 60fps in the in game settings
  6. Like I said, it’s unstable with any kind of oc
  7. Happens at 0 offset on VRAM and +15 on core. If it’s overclocked at all it’s unstable Quick side note, I live near 2 micro centers and I would be fine with being the guy that returns a GPU for being a dud
  8. Would be a lot better than my Strix card that artifacts and crashes with any level of OC and has a max sustained of 1950. Used to swear by Asus’s quality but I’ve seen similar problems with other people’s strix cards
  9. I’ve heard bad things about the Ventus. Save up $30 more and get the Gaming Z (if you want to stick with MSI) I’ve used lots of MSI cards, including the Gaming Z, it’s a good card https://www.newegg.com/msi-geforce-rtx-2060-rtx-2060-gaming-z-6g/p/N82E16814137379
  10. If you’re playing at 1080p60, go for the 2060 as long as it’s not overpriced. Will give you future headroom to upgrade to a 1080p144 panel in the future or with the money you save
  11. Recently I’ve been having a lot of trouble with my ROG Strix OC 2080 Ti pertaining to max sustained boost clocks. I’ve heard Nvidia binned the best GPUs for the founders cards and I’m considering selling my AIB card for a 2080 Ti FE and just liquid cooling it to get the temps down. Thoughts?
  12. A: it’s highest sustained boost is about 1950 and B: I didn’t buy a Strix card to not overclock it
  13. It’s not near the glass, it’s where the PCIe brackets are. And it’s never runs above 61C
  14. I'm using the cooler master vertical gpu mount kit. Could the riser cable be causing this?
  15. Just installed the new PSU and used 2 separate PCIe cables for the 2080 Ti. Launched battlefront 2 at +90 +1000. Artifacted heavily in main menu then crashed. Same thing at +90 +0 which is weird because I though artifacting was a result of VRAM oc?? No artifacting or crash at +0 +0, +0 +500, +0 +1000, +30 +0, +30 +500, +30 +1000, +45 +1000. Starts to artifact at +60 +1000. Update: began artifacting at +45 +1000 Update: same with +45 +500. just takes longer to start went down to +30 +1000 and it took longer. I have literally no idea whats going on crashed at +0 +1000 (previously doable)
  16. Sorry for disappearing, I’ve had a lot going on including going back to work after an injury. I ordered an HX1200i and it gets here today so I will update hopefully tonight or tomorrow
  17. testing for what? looking for what symptoms and how should they be addressed? i still have it running off one pcie cable, should i change that first? also, never mentioned it before because it didn't appear to be a cause and effect type situation but I have my card vertically mounted with the cooler master kit, but again this didn't start happening as soon as i used the kit
  18. yeah i'm going with an HX1200 but my concern is thats not the actual problem
  19. hey i was just playing battlefront 2 and afterburner said my cpu was only using ~90w and that my gpu was hitting power and voltage limits almost 100% of the time at +0 and +1000.. that's bad, right? does that rule out needing a higher wattage psu or ??? edit: just put my cpu down to all core 4.7 and it is still crashing 3dmark i have no idea whats going on and im getting worried that there's something wrong with the card.
  20. I'm jealous, I would switch from my iPhone X to the new ROG Phone 2 when it comes out but iMessage and FaceTime have got too tight a grip on me and the people I regularly talk to. Good luck op
  21. Update: borderlands doesn't crash because it doesn't put a full load on my gpu, just tried running time spy and it crashed almost immediately
